Mini John Cooper Works beware: Audi 200 HP S1 coming in early 2010

After bringing the Audi A1 to the market later this year, Audi will offer a high-performance S1 version of the hatchback that will compete with the likes of the MINI John Cooper Works and the upcoming Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA.


Power will come from a 1.4L TFSI supercharged and turbocharged engine making a total of 200-hp. It will also carry a quattro all-wheel-drove chassis. 0 to 60 mph is expected to come in at 6 seconds with a top speed electronically limited to 155 mph.

I think they should make it a bit more powerful--bump it up with the new A4's engine, perhaps? S cars should always be between 4.5-5.5 seconds for 0-60 times IMO.

Look at the engine size. Its effing 1.4 litres for gods sake. Thats really good for stock and its response is like a NA while at it.

Volvo C30 - 2.5 liter, 5 cylinder turbo, 227 hp SLOWER in all aspects than Audi A3 2.0TFSI, 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder turbo, 200 hp (DSG). Numbers don't tell the whole story buddy, any car enthusiast knows this.

you are so wrong, the C30 runs 0-60 in 6.3sec. and clears the 1/4 mile in 14.8 @97mph. (Car&Driver Dec 2007) the a3, 0-60 in 6.5sec. and 14.9 @ 94mph.
Buy a R32.

The power to weight ratio should be perfect! Plus with a computer program added with the Fsi. Your looking at close to 300hp and ftlb's. Put $2000.00 into it and you will have a ANIMAL!!!!
