Beautiful car, especially in white. Classy.
I am not a fan of Infiniti interiors though. The M45 has very nice interior materials in my experience (the best Infiniti interior), but the design is neither sporty nor luxurious in my opinion. I think they could have done a better job there design wise.

It cannot match the Lexus GS interior which is the best in class and even better than a Rolls or Bentley.

White is very nice on this car!
Infiniti's M cars give me hope that they can produce a successful new Q. If they wanted to.

Um, the GS is the best looking car in this class. Design experts and magazines alike have praised this beautiful dynamic and classy design.

Lexus has the best interior design and material, you just don't argue about that, that's a fact.
Now the refresh isn't much, the car design is still old even when it first came in.
The interior is still the same, with the same quality, no improvement what so ever.
Yet over all, I love the way it drives.

david989, let's put it this way.
The GS is no Ford GT40 when it comes to styling.

Beautiful in black! Much more cohesive and elegant than the 5-Series.

I have driven every car in this class, except the M. I just can't warm up to it. As far as looks go I have to disagree Will (I know I am in the minority on this) I far prefer the avant-garde lines of the 5er to the M mundane, chunky and way to Nissan looking lines

I would agree as well, theopt. Parts of the M do look better than the 5 by themselves but it lacks to cohesive package that is the 5. IMO the headlights and brake lights really need work on the M.

This one will give Lexus a run for its money! I'm glad Nissan did it as it will encourage Audi to do even better. You guessed it, I'm an Audi fan. Audi gives me the one thing I want which is winter traction with a superior AWD system.

The best in class, according to several automotive sources, just got that much better. A great choice over the BMW 5-Series. Infiniti is really impressing with their driving dynamics.

Until the German car sits in the shop week after week after week. That's one of the reasons their safety ratings are so good, because they're hardly ever on the road.

david989, did you hear the Japanese Government is still to this day trying to cover up atrocities comitted by Japanese soldiers during WWII by leaving them out of history books.
The latest case is how they told and forced okinawans to commit suicide by jumping off of cliffs and by blowing themselves up with hand grenades supplied by the Japanese soldiers when they found out the USA was coming to liberate Okinawa.
Here's the link,

Beautiful car. I remember someone giving me crap for liking this car earlier in the year. And I still like it. Now if Nissan could do something with the Nissan line of cars. They all look alike. Make a new Maxima off this platform.

when purchasing my GS, i considered the M, along with the 5-series and E-class.
The 5-series was ok. i like the drivability of the BMW, and thats the only area in which the BMW impressed me. Options, features, styling, quality...it fell behind the E-class and the GS. I did find the interior of the 5-series betetr than the previous M. Dunno bout this one.
The E-class just didnt do it for me. The styling wasnt all that great, and the features and pricing for them was reidiculous. That emblem sure does charge alot for minimal things. Surprisingly the E-class i was interested in still had me purchasing HID headlights, which i feel should be a standard on premium cars.
then it came to the M, i liked the styling and the performance of the vehicle. Its just that the interior was a Nissan. and if it wasnt for that, i would have been more interested.
the GS fit perfectly in all segments. Great styling, interior is very nicely done with top quality leather, the features are lengthy and the performance is very very good. And still i get great gas mileage, 25+ and 30+ when highway driving. and to top it off, it came fully loaded for much less than the german competitors.
Everyone has their mind set on a brand, i approached this purchase open-minded and did my homework before pulling that trigger. the GS in the end, won me over.

Wow, I share the EXACT same thoughts on this segment. My top two are definitely the GS and M, followed by the E-Class, A6, and RL in that order. In the end, I just happen to like the design of the GS a little more than the M. A black GS350 or 460 will be very tempting in the near future.

RL? Acura doesn't even offer a V8. I really like the M45, but it's still a close 2nd. to the 545i. I would take an E550 over the GS, though. The GS has a very nice interior, but something about the exterior design just looks cheap to me. It resembles a Maxima in profile.

My current ratings:
1. E-Class
2. 5 Series
3. M
4. A6
5. GS
6. S80
7. RL
8. 9-5
I don't know what it is about it, but the E-Class always catches my eye- at least the new Sport Package model. It's beautifully elegant, timeless. Especially in black. My ideal E (non AMG): E550 4Matic Sport, black/black+white two-tone.
The 5 Series... the refresh is what I like. The pre-fresh wouldn't have been in my top 3, but the much better interior, still-stellar dynamics and modern styling win me over.
Infiniti M. Need I explain? Very competent sedan.
The current Audi A6 has never struck me as a class-leader... the 3.2 is utterly underwhelming. But the A6 4.2 S-Line and fantastic new S6 are what bring me back home. It also has a great interior, of course.
The Lexus GS is definitely not a bad car, and I love how the hybrid looks in white, but I just don't see anything that merits its purchase over the competition. I guess you could argue for its reliability, but as I've had no problems with my German cars, that's not an issue for me. It's comfortable, performs fairly well and looks good, but others in this class are more luxurious, or they perform better, or they look better.
I don't feel like writing about the rest. Good night!
