As we’ve told you before, Rolls-Royce is working on filling the gap between the Phantom and the BMW 7-Series by introducing a baby Phantom sometime right before 2010.

Since Bentley has done very well by targeting customers with the Continental Flying Spur and a price tag of less than $200,000, Rolls-Royce will now be hoping to do the same.

Spies have recently caught a 7-Series based prototype making rounds in Germany that is expected to be a test vehicle for the upcoming baby Rolls-Royce Phantom. Even though we’ve been calling it the ‘Baby Phantom,’ the car will still be pretty big, measuring 5.5 meters in length. It will still remain longer than the next-generation BMW 7-Series and 300mm shorter than the daddy Phantom.
