Ford Motor Co. chief executive Alan Mulally says he’s staying put at the Dearborn automaker through at least the end of the year, ending months of speculation that he might jump ship and head to tech giant Microsoft Corp., headquartered in his home state of Washington.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Mulally, 68, said Tuesday he wanted to end the Microsoft speculation. He wouldn’t say if he had talked with Microsoft.
