You know, it's funny. Not only does Volkswagen take its sweet time delivering its products to the States, it also takes its time delivering information.

As I was checking my RSS feeds, I noticed some of the European publications are posting the FIRST images of the newly revised Volkswagen Jetta. Looks like the Golf Sportwagen will have a friend.

The newly revised Jetta is a big deal as the Jetta is VW's volume product. In addition, a lot of the press got on veedub's back when the all-new Jetta initially debuted. They didn't like the decontented car nor were they fans of the cheapened interior. We, on the other hand, were understanding why VW did it — they wanted to lower the base price. AND, clearly consumers didn't care as the car moved off lots.

Though we don't have official information yet — thanks again, VWoA — we'll update this post when we get the details. From what we can tell, the changes aren't particularly noticeable, at least on the outside. The interior is said to have been upgraded a touch.


Volkswagen has previewed a light refresh of its Jetta saloon ahead of its reveal at the New York motor show in the coming days.

The saloon gets a light nip at the front and rear; the changes are done with a view to improving the Jetta’s aerodynamic efficiency.

At the front there’s a subtly altered front grille, revised air intakes, new LED daytime running lights and a new bumper, while the lines at the rear are tweaked to give the Jetta a more slippery shape...
