Christian von Koenigsegg is one of those people that is probably one in a million. Perhaps one in a billion. That's because at a tender age he started his own automotive company and somehow the thing's still going.

Last I saw the company isn't building more than a dozen to 14 vehicles a year at a jaw dropping cost of well over $1 million per unit. The latest vehicle is the One:1 and Koenigsegg continues to push the boundaries of engineering as this vehicle has a power-to-weight ratio of 1:1 (horsepower:kilograms), hence the name.

Announced just before the 2014 New York Auto Show (NYIAS), Koenigsegg has formally re-entered the North American market with a post at Manhattan Motorcars. For those of you not familiar with the dealer, it's on the west side of town on 28th Street and 11th Avenue — just a 10-minute walk from the Jacob K. Javits Center.

Essentially, this is where you can find a multitude of high-end autos so it's a justified place for Koenigsegg to live. Not to mention New York remains one of the centers of business and finance.

This isn't the first time Koenigsegg had a New York presence as it originally worked with Universal Autosport based in Glen Cove. Unfortunately, from what I've heard, that outfit has had some problems with another Long Island-based outfit claiming it was conducting corporate espionage.

Koenigsegg's press release follows:

Koenigsegg re-enter North American car market – Manhattan Motorcars

After a few years of absence in USA, it brings us great joy to introduce Manhattan Motorcars of New York City as our official dealer for the American northeast.

Manhattan Motorcars is an award winning New and Pre-owned retailer for Porsche, Bugatti, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Lamborghini and Lotus located in New York City.

They are respected as one of the most successful luxury and performance automotive dealers in the world, and have set unmatched records in sales and service continuously from 1995 to present day.

The partnership between Koenigsegg Automotive and Manhattan Motorcars is effective as of today.

Manhattan Motorcars will represent Koenigsegg at the New York International Auto Show, displaying a 2014 Agera R model. The New York International Auto show is scheduled to run from the 18th to the 27th of April. For more details about the show, please visit their website http://www.autoshowny.com.

I can't tell you how excited myself and my team are to be representing such an exciting and innovative automotive brand and look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with Christian and the team at Koenigsegg and putting these gorgeous cars on the road.

Jens G Sverdrup - Regional Director & Head Of Sales – Koenigsegg Automotive.
I couldn't be happier with the choice of partner. Since 1995 Brian Miller and his group have created a dealership with almost iconic status in the middle of New York City. Their friendly, relaxed, knowledgeable and down to earth attitude fit very well with our brand values, so it's the perfect match.

So, without further ado we wish Brian Miller and Manhattan Motorcars welcome to the Koenigsegg family.
