Earlier this summer, Consumer Reports discovered that Toyota needed to expand its recalls with one more for older Camry models that seemed to have some braking issues. Two months later, and the automaker responded to the owners’ concerns, offering a free fix.

After the report, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened investigations and found more than 900 complaints as well as almost 1,100 warranty claims for faulty brake components.
