For what feels like eons we've watched Audi doing developmental testing on a high-end, badass TT model. Like the last-gen TT, we expected it to be a TT RS.
You know, a 2.5-liter five-cylinder screamer.
While we have no idea what will power the little R8 wannabe — it sounds like a five-cylinder motor to us — the car was completely exposed in all-new spy shots. Caught gassing up in Spain with that yellow R8 Spyder and a matte black RS5 — that's what it appears to be — the all-new TT RS was nabbed sans camouflage.
It was completely butt naked. To have TWO all-new products snapped in this way in the same week for the same brand is exceptional.
Could Audi be in on it? It's possible.
It would be a genius way to get attention before a 2016 New York Auto Show (NYIAS) debut, that's for sure. Instead of hyping a vehicle with teaser shots just give it away.
That said, a launch has to be in order shortly. Auto makers never take off the camo until its right around the corner. New York or bust? What say you, Spies?
