New 1018HP Koenigsegg supercar
There’s a new challenger packing the potential to topple Buggati’s Veyron as the world’s fastest car in the form of Koenigsegg’s new CCXR supercar. Details were first released about it back in March and now we have official renderings of the final production version.

As previously reported, the CCXR will be sporting a cast-aluminum V8 engine capable of running on biofuel. The burning of ethanol in biofuel has the positive side effect of cooling the combustion chambers. This combined with a higher octane rating provides the enviro-friendly supercar with 1,018hp at 7,200rpm and peak torque of 1,060Nm at 6,100rpm

I think it's bogus that they give the torque rating in Nm's when most people that see this site are used to ft lbs which by the is only 782 for this car.

I heard the standard Koenigsegg CC is hard to handle as it is. I couldn't imagine this version being easier to drive at all. There has already been several cases where the drivers have spun out of control.

ferrari f430 any day over this. what are the chances of ever having to race an ugly Koenigsegg or veyron and losing.

most of us on this web site will never see these cars on the street. i live in nyc and have never seen a single one.

Maybe because the base Koenigsegg costs more than 3 F430s is why it is a bit rare in NYC.

I would take the Segg over any Ferrari made to Date

I would love to see this thing fly. I think that too many of today's "supercars", are made too easy to drive. Ferraris says it made the Enzo easier to drive, Lambo says the same about its Murci and Gallardo models, and so does Bugatti. They keep making hyper cars easier to drive because the people who can afford can't drive, and complain about making them easier to drive.

Even the cars regular people can afford are so laden with electronic nannies, which actually creates bad drivers and driving habits.

Well there is a reason that the Ferraris and Lamborghini’s are more common than Koenigsegg. Ferrari produces about 5000 cars annually and Lamborghini about 3000 cars whereas Koenigsegg makes 20-25 cars max a year. If you ask Christian von Koenigsegg himself he would say that his main competitor foremost is Pagani. This is because they are similar in company size, they where started roughly at the same time from nothing by men (Horacio Pagani respectively Christian von Koenigsegg) with the ultimate visions, passion and desire to create their own supercar brands rather than buying one of the market. They are both privately held very small companies with immense ideas and creativity to continuing to enhance their proven supercars. As Christian would say “Koenigsegg are for those people who think that Ferrari and Lamborghini are to common”. He also states customers who comes to Koenigsegg are foremost those filthy rich people who already have a dozen of supercars in their garages like the Zonda, Enzo, Veyron and wants to ad a Koenigsegg to that team.
