New Audi Q5 Promotional Video
Soccer moms unite (joking) as the hottest luxury crossover is coming to the US shores. Its the Audi Q5 and in S-line form and modified exhaust we may just be interested in putting one in our garage. The Q5 will feature the same 3.2 FSI engine hitting the new redesigned Audi A4 this year. Do yourself a favor if you are ordering one make sure you opt for the Bi Xenons and the LED headlamps: you won't regret it. Look for it to hit the US shores come the first quarter of 2009. The Q5 looks HOT! Does anyone have any idea if it shares components w/ VW's Tiguan (like the old Jetta/A4, Passat/A6, Touareg/Q7, etc.)? With the new Audi Q5 and the new MB GLK... BMW has a LOT of work to do on the new X3, I would say!!! I wonder what THEY have up their sleeve, design-wise... Hopefully something that looks less like an awkward boot on wheels!!! Any thoughts?

I agree with you completely. The Q5 and new GLK look beautiful and should sell well.
The Q5 is built on an Audi-exclusive platform based on the new B8 A4.

From what I know Q5 doesn't share component with Tiguan.

The cousin of Tiguan will in fact be call Q3.

The Q5 is actually larger than the Tiguan and is based on the A4/ A5 platform..
It is actually the largest in it class as well and offers the most technology as well.
Just bring the 3.0TDi and I would be all set!! :)

The A6 and A4 share nothing with VW either so you realize.

I'm a little curious...isn't this the one that they're gonna change the name to Q1?
...oh boy...let's hope the confusion doesn't annoy the customers at the dealers.

But that doesn't matter, as long as it doesn't wound up with Tiguan's problems, this car would be a hot seller...but even that needs some improvement, which is focused advertising. I think this car is really lacking that little bit. Audi gotta realize how much advertising had helped Lexus.

Really liking this...and it seems it will be bigger than its competition might suggest. I imagine it will be more like the RX350 or X5 that the X3 or LR2 in size. Those tailights look awesome. Looks like a great car for a ski trip.

And do not forget the Acura RDX and Infiniti EX. Audi did a great job with design inside and out.

I really like it. The Q7 seemed to be the best SUV at the 08 Detroit Show. It seemed more Wagon-like and more like a Heavy Duty Car than an SUV.

I like that this Q5 is sporting a Diesel. I'd like to get one if New York State allows them this year.

I am waiting for the Lincoln MKt. But Ford is missing the boat here as they should use thier new small 4.4L Diesel, insted Ford's marketing team is making the mistake of going V6 eco-boost Front drive and even the less efficient AWD.

I think the Lincoln MKt looks great, but ford needs to better compete in the powertrain department. If Frod went Diesel they would have a gem.

Audi certainly has a Diesel gem here. The cost is my concern though, especially with the high Euro and weak dollar. I'm willing to pay more for Diesel, but Audi may be priced out of the market in considering it for use as a company car, a common practice more and more American employees have had to burden since companys are cutting back on providing company use cars.
