New BMW M3 , almost official!!!!
We are all waiting for the BMW M3, so is it the RS4 eater we expected? Here is an unofficial photo that shows the M3's new bodykit but with M5 rims. This IS how it will look like.

look at the real m3 (bmw just revealed the concept). There is no question-the m3 will easily own the RS4 in every aspect.

that photo is photoshopped-color is artificial and there should be a hood bulge.

It can't look like that. By just glancing at the current M3 and the low to the ground stance and aggressive 'sport' kit on it....this is just someone's idea of the new M3.

it's close, but the m3 will be a lot more aggressive than that. i.e.: where is the hood bulge that is necessary to keep the v8 in there? why aren't the fenders flared out like the current m3? imho, this looks too close to the e92 coupe. bmw would/should make modifications to the m3 so that it isn't too aesthitically similar to the e92 coupe, otherwise people will just opt for the 335 and mod with the twin turbo's to get them to m3 standards, like how people were doing with the previous gen s4's to get them to perform like the rs4's.

Have no fear M3 fans. This car when in full production and is offical will look like the mean ultimate driving machine that it is known to be. BMW will never come short in producing an M and not have it look like a beast.

BMW produces another champ! The M3 is what Audi hopes to be one day. Audi smells of third or forth... maybe behind Kia, or Mercury...

- This is a photoshop, but from the spy shots/videos that I have seen, this could very well be what the M3 will look like. The new 3 series body type is nice to me, and seemingly will grow in time (my opinion). I can remember in 1999 when the E46 body type received numerous criticism as first photos were released...Now,it is widely regarded as being very "classic". Still today, I love the shape of my 2002 M3. The 08 M3 looks to even "up" the ante. I expect a lot from the upcoming M3...0-60 times in the low 4's and very fast "Ring" times...
- Regarding my RS4: Audi has presented a very formidable sports sedan.
- My M3: Installed is a supercharger good for 470-490HP (9K on top of my 56K sticker price, good for ~12 sec quarter mile time). I'll still eat up the RS4.

Well, it is different, you have a sedan. That will be a coupe, you have two more doors, more rear space. The new M3 will be around the performance of the RS4 which is above your S4. But remember that you have a special edition (it might not be that important to you) and you have your car now, the new BMW will probably come out sometime next year.

The S4 or RS4 are not direct compitition to the M3
The M3 will be a nice car even though Bangle will f up the look it will still drive very nice.
No one can say anythying bad about the RS4. Especiallty if they have driven one.
One year from now the M3 and a year after that the A5/S5 and S4 - wow an S5 coupe sounds nice just about the time my S6 lease will end.

This looks too soft, but I am sure this is not what it is like! BMW is known for their superior, striking designs, unlike Audi! So I expect the new M3 to be a faster, meaner and more sttractive car than the stupid RS4! Aftersll, the M3 is rear wheel drive, not all wheel drive. True racing drivers will only want RWD for their rcing cars, not stupid Quattro! What is so good about the RS4? Since when did a little Audi name beat the all mighty BMW name??? I won't even mention the RS4 vs M3. The thing is that if I was given a choice between the two, M3 is definately the one! Especially with the BMW badge! No one knows about the RS4 without its name badge at the back of the car! They will think that it is an A4 S line or something or DTM! All I can say is that BMW M3 is the choice for all clever, young and educated people, while the RS4 is for those who cannot afford the next M3 and are older, poorer and illy educated people. Afterall, an RS$ is nothing but a VW with VW parts! Shame, I want a pedigree sports car andonly BMW can give that!

BMW DESIGNS ARE THE BEST: STRIKING, FUTURISTIC, FASHIONABLE, YOUNG MINDED, SPORTY!
You know, all you people who are complaining about BMW's recent design is just jealous of them! BMW is the no.1 luxury car brand in the world and the 3, 5, 7 sold the most cars in its market segment in 2005 worldwide, beating Merc and Audi BY FAR!
So this simply says it, BMW's design is the way the people want it, togather with reliable first class innovation, quality and character, it can be nothing but the choice of sensible and educated buyers! The new 3 Series design is a work of art, look at the sharp front and muscular side, what car in the world can match that??? It is something potent, first and striking. It stands out from the normal cars like Merc and Audi!
That's why BMW's 3 is World car of the year and top 3 for World car design of the year! If you want to moan, why not try the ugly CLS, look what Sh1t it looks like: ugly headlights with an overcurved shoulderline (looks like it has been crashed from front and rear), ugly rear lights, too! Shame, what a piece of TRASH! The other one is the new S class - headlights so dull and fogged, can't they ever come up with something orginal and exciting?
I suppose because they appeal to the almost dead old population, who still think that Merc is a respected brand! I don't even want to get to the snoek fish degin of the Audi grille and the crying taillights of the A4, the sales show! By the way, why did Merc copy the iDrive, bootlid and interior design of the 7 if it was so ugly to some brainless bigmouths? Bangle is King and he should stay! BMW is not BMW without his works of art! Too bad for those who do not like it, you must then close your eyes, but the majority of thsi world loves it and that's what matters. We cannot help it that you lack taste!

mromar and chewy:
chewy:
1) If you read this article closely, you will find that testing was completed in 100 plus degrees and that numbers are higher than expected. But that is not the point, my M3 has a stage 2 ESS supercharger good for 470-490 hp, NOT a DINAN S3-R. So, yes, I am good for about ~12 sec flat and 0-60 times around 4 flat.
2) The new M3 and RS4: one is a coupe one is a sedan. You are looking at an RS4 with a sticker price of ~74K compared to the new M3 which will come in at (~55K-60K) depending on options, etc. that will probably be good for 400HP and very similar quarter mile and 0-60 times. The BMW has the aura, the prestige, the track record, and will certainly be selling much, much better than the RS4.
mromar:
1) My point in mentioning my current vehicle with the add-on of a supercharger is: I pretty much paid 60K for my M3 plus the 9K (installation completion by me) add-on for the supercharger (2002) technology and can still beat the NEW RS4 (74K) in the quarter or to 60. Further, I will eat the NEW RS4 to 150mph.

If you drive a BMW and converse with lines like “illy educated people” then I will stick with the RS4. This probably is close to the finished product, but then again there migh be a few changes to make it look more aggressive. The RS4 is pretty much going to be faster than the M3, but we need to know by how much to really make a comparison. What about handling, that matters too. There is a pretty good chance that BMW, as always, will make a very competitive product to the RS4. Don't be surprised if people pick the M3 over the RS4

Obviously the RS4 cars are sold in low numbers for exclusivity not because they don't sell or the BMW sells better. Audi ONLY make about 8k of the previous RS6 on PURPOSE for exclusivity, they aren't reaching for high sales with the RS series, taht is why the higher price is expected. Also, the new M5 is only a thousand or so cheaper than the last RS6 which was more expensive than the last M5, I expect the M3's price to climb some. About aftermarket, the normal Audi V8 (from the S4/Q7 gets 500 hp with a supercharger) The RS4 engine with some forced induction will get you well over 500. But then again like others have said, the aftermarket is different and shouldn't be compared. I can take some old GM junker drop the lagest block that I can supercharg it and get 700+ hp for less, but then you wouldn't nearly have the all-around great car like the RS4, (or the M3)

BMW4DH - so you had to spend 9K so you could beat an RS4? You point is that you couldn't without spending that 9K?
And yet I could spend a little bit more and have two more doors, better handling, and a non bastered car. 9K for a supercharger? Why didn't you just go out and get yourself a CSL?

Guys, guys , guys ... what is the deal with the nonsense ...
Mark, you state why someone wouldnt want to go buy a CSL for $9k more. Why? Have you sat in the rear seat of that car and why if I am looking for a performance coupe would I go to somthing slower and less emphasis on performance? A cls 500 can not hold a candle to either the M3 or the Audi RS4 ... Cant even believe you brought that car into this discussion .....
The guys on top gear said it best when it comes to the M3 or the Audi. If you are looking for something more subdued and practical then go with the Audi, but if you want something more and exhilerating then go with the BMW ... One is more Raw than the other ... It always comes down to what you prefer to drive ... For me it is the BMW. I have a M3 and love the car. One thing you have to consider is that the new 3-series coupe is a very attractive car and will sell very well for BMW. Also, it came in much less than I expected in price. I would expect the new M3 to price in around the low 50's and pretty well equipped in the low 60's .... This will make it much more desireable plus it is a M3. Definitely puts Audi behind the 8 ball so to speak on this one ......
Chewy, you state that Audi only built 8k Rs6 on purpose due to exclusivity ... So what do you think the M5 is with BMW? They only built 7500 models for the Us over 5 years from 1998 til 2003. BMW by far has the more marquee and exclusive name of the two. Not Audi ... Audi makes a great car, I just find it amusing watching everyone slam BMW vs everyother make. BMW has set the threshold very high ... It is good to see so much competition. It will only make everyone better .... BMW is and will remain number 1. They have the world car of the year ( 3-series ), the designer of the year ( Bangle ) as voted by the automotive press and magazines due to his influences in the other makes and models on the market today.
Did Audi not come up with their own version ( albeit a nicer version of the I-drive ), or did Mercedes put the infamous " Bangle but on their new Mercedes S-class with a command i-drive system of their own, doesnt infiniti have a command system of their own, or acura for that matter on their Rl, or the new Lexus Ls460 due to arrive has the exact same sillohuette as the BMW 7-series from the side. Do I agree with all the BMW designs, no, but have to hand it to him for trying something new and innovating in regards to style and functions ..... As of todate, BMW sells the most Luxury cars in the US. No one is really that close except for Lexus ... Not mercedes , your beloved Audi, Infiniti, Acura, or Jaguar are remotely close ....

First I could care less if you were reading the King James Bible or Star Wars.
I was not pointing out the word but how you used it---illy = badly. Correct me if I’m wrong but I never heard anyone say that they are “badly educated”, poorly is more suited. So go back to your 9th grade English class and as you teacher how to speak and write properly.
Secondly there are so many type-os, who the hell knows what you are writing. Either way you sound like a babbling idiot.
So Go art thou Dork (classical meaning of the word)….
BMW is OK, but it's no AUD. Right now..I see a lot of wind being taken out of your sails--little by little. BMW sells because of something called BRAND RECOGINTION, It's the "MTV" of cars. All the little kiddies (like LWKH) have been brainwashed to think it is the best thing ever when realistically is not that much better if at all.
All the debating is funny. Let's talk when they take the M3 off the board and put it on the road...I have been hearing about this thing before the RS4 and now that BMW has seen the Competition , they keep going back to the board, trying to get it right. By the time it is released the next RS4--or--RS5 will be out kill it anyway.
Prepare to be Dethroned!!!!!!

Racer rx -- you are on crack arent you ... Audi dethroning BMW? when / where? M3 compared to the new advanced Rs4 with a larger engine by about 100 more hp, of course it will be faster ... The M3 is only about 5 years old in this body style. If you compare it to the S4, then with pure performance numbers, 0 to 60, braking and handling then the M3 wins ... The M3, like or not, has and will always be the benchmark for the compact sedan/coupe luxury sports market. That is why Audi came out with the S4, RS4. Mercedes came out with the C36, c43, c55, & now the c63 ... Everyone knows that the M3 is King and the one to beat ...
Mark ... Csl? come on. The CSL is only available in europe and not available in the US, where most of the people replying about the posts on here are from ... Next time be more clear. As far as the M3 goes, the competition package is the US version in regards to the CSL just without the increase in power. By putting a supercharger on a M3 is bastardizing it, and how is that? Go get your Audi RS4 and like typical Audi fashion in about 4 years your car will have no value and the M3 will still be the " King of the Mountain " ....
It kills me that everytime a post is in here about the M3, about 50 pro-Audi people come out and bash the M3. Which is the most regarded as the benchmark for sports sedans/coupes/conv in this segment of cars. Audi does a good job, better than Mercedes in bringing a competitor to the M3. They are different cars. Until Audi designs a coupe to compete with the BMW M3, then we can talk .....

This ///M will be the best one yet. With V8 power, SMGIII 7-Speed, technical do-dads; I think I will have one.

BMW4me4ever - How the heck am I suppose to know where you live? Where was I bashing the M3? Okay, I admit the bastard commnet was a little strong. In none of my posts have I ever bashed the M3 for anything. My comment to you was talking about having to do something to make sure you could beat the RS4.
So you can beat the RS4 to 150mph. I am very happy for you.

Ugly front. Weak ass. Definitely not as good as E46 M3.
