New Chrysler campaign to push ‘premium’ image
So much surrounding Chrysler these days and the company is worrying about its image. Chrysler is getting ready to launch a new campaign in the Spring of 2007 that will give Chrysler a rich and upper-class feel. Automotive News reports that the campaign will highlight the brand’s “premium” characteristics and link the Chrysler models to Mercedes-Benz and German engineering, said George Murphy, senior vice president of global brand marketing during an interview at the National Automobile Dealers Association convention.

Currently the Chrysler SRT-8 is based on the Mercedes E-Class with its 6.1 liter V8 engine that produces 450 horsepower.

Nobody for one minute think that these cars are upscale. They are shi_boxes. All this will do is drag Mercedes down!!!

And the only way they will accomplish this is by continuing their dependence on the MB parts bin.

Chrysler is done. Cheap power and cars.

"Premium Image" - Ha Ha Ha. Before the image, must produce cars that are that caliber first.

It's very possible that Chrysler's upper management is on drugs.

LOL...I don't think of Chrysler as luxury. I do admit that I like the SRT-8 Charger. I used to like the 300, but if you live in Atlanta or the surrounding area, you will see one every 2 seconds.

They'll make a great addition to Buick's pseudo-premium brand when they are absorbed by GM.

I wonder if Chrysler management has actually driven one of their own cars...I drove the Charger, great looking outside, drives well, BUT POS interior with cheap plastic bits that creek and rattle and a design concept that looks like a child's toy with big chunky blocks, big knobs, and NO attention to detail, all thats missing is bright yellow and red colors, a clown horn and a Fisher Price sticker that says "my first car"...ive seen better in a Buick, really...go check out what the competition is doing and they are NOT calling themselves upscale..

its not drugs folks, I think desperation... This just in, Chrysler Exec robs bank, takes hostage, chews off left arm..and insists they produce upscale products...film at 11...

What heck those are those idiots at Chrysler smoking? Whatever it is, they need to stop. Chysler as a premium I don't think so. Why would anyone pay a premium price for a Chrylser =unreliability, over the Lexus, Infiniti, Acura, BMW, MB and Audi.

This is JOKE right? he he he he......very funny, not

Reliability isn't the only reason people buy cars.

Chrysler pushing a upscale/premium image is flawed and the German engineering/Mercedes link/influence is even more flawed and will negatively affect the brand image of Benz. Chrysler needs to stand on it's own feet, get their sh*t together.

How can they fixed their problem that they are having if they don't know their own identity. That just like Kia coming out and says, they want to compete Lexus, BMW, MB, Audi, Acura and Infiniti etc...It won't work.

The Imperial is very nice looking car, but it look like to me, it borrow design from RR. I still would "NOT" pay premium for a Chrysler. The only American that would pay premium is the new Cadillact CTS-V.
