New Jaguar XK spy shots
The transition from previous owner Ford to new owner Tata Motors complete, Jaguar is turning its attention to preparing its facelifted XK coupe and cabrio for release.

Its German competitors have already released a generational update to their cars, and the Leaping Cat will have its work cut out to make headway in the tough global market.

Prototypes for Jaguar's facelifted XK have been spotted testing in the UK and Germany ahead of the updated model's debut, expected to come at the Paris Motor Show in November.

Car is beautiful. I do hope they do something drastic about the current front bumper though

The new XK will widen the gap even more from it's competitors, awesome car. Look forward to seeing it alongside the new XFR:)

You mean "narrow the gap".

Jaguar really needs to introduce its new engines asap...its a good looking car but its underpowered and way to expensive for what you get....the XF has a nicer interior, is available with the same engine thats in the almost 90 grand XKR for 65 grand fully loaded...and the XF with that engine isnt a R its just a regular model..hopefully they fix that soon because that makes no sense...not to mention 300hp in a class where the competition has 60+ more horses and are in some cases almost a second faster to 60

Perhaps I should wind my neck in, not get into an argument involving foreign people 1/4 my age, but...

XK = Civic?

As an owner of 1 (the funky UK hatchback) and a desirer of the other, I'm badgered if I can see the likeness...?

I don't think Jaguar needs a more powerful engine or make a change in the design. I have driven XJRs And XKRs for the last nine years. I have yet to spend any money on the engines with the exception of my changing the chain tighteners on my 1999 XJR. I did the job myself at a cost of about $250. I now drive a 2002 XJR and a 2003 XKR with 0 spent on the engines with the exception of oil and filters. They are very reliable and around 400 hp is enough in today's market. When you get down around 0-60 in 5 sec. that's enough. Jaguars are not kid's cars. They are for the more mature gentleman.

I absolutely detest the side mirrors. The ones that they replaced were much more design appropriate.

I don't like the new SL, but certainly looks better than that Honda-Civic-looking car.

JAG will come back strong now that they will get some R&D resources from Tata. XF is selling strong in most places, its competitive at the MSRP. Ford neglected the brand and let new vehicle designs take too long to get to the market.
