Well the Japanese get the coolest things first again.

Nissan today introduced the new 12th generation Skyline today in Japan. The new Nissan Skyline 3.5 liter V6 version pushes 315 horsepower and 36.5kgm of torque while the 2.5 liter V6 version pushes 225 horsepower with 26.8kgm of torque. Drivers will have the choice of a five-speed automatic with adaptive shift control. There will also be a new DS mode that allows optimized gear selection for different driving conditions. And the Japanese have also picked up on the paddle shifting so the new sportier Nissan Skyline, SP and P, feature steering mounted shift paddles that allow the driver to operate in manual mode. Design? Well just check out the images. The car will start selling at 2,793,000 yen to 3,801,000 yen. Nissan is hoping to sell at least 1,000 Nissan Skylines a month. Which we think they’ll definitely beat. Oh yeah, it looks like the new Infiniti G35 with a little bit of M. Just thought we’d add that.

I dont believe that it is the exact same design. unless maybe the new g35 is identical. If that is the case, then what im saying is I like the old style better. I am not an idiot. i know it is essentially the same design, but the new subtle changes.. i dislike. i dont like the rear wheel flare and the way the side flows into the rear end around the real wheel.

Actualy they ways made the Skyline in a sedan,but it's not really popular as the GTR coupe!!

I like it better as a Nissan, same car without the markup for the infiniti name...like my Pathfinder, a more ballsy QX4

Please someone explain to me why the German boys always call Lexus a Rebadged Toyota,when Nissan/infiniti and Honda/Acura are more identical to each other than Toyota and Lexus,yet they never call an Infiniti or Acura rebadged!!!
I think it because Lexus is more of a threat to the German auto makers!!

Lexus has been a rebadged Toyota as much as Infiniti is a rebadged Nissan until Toyota started selling some (not all) of them under the Lexus brand in Japan as well. And the best sellers in the Lexus US line up (ES, RX) are still rebadged Toyotas.

But they don't make the Windom or harrier anymore in Japan or anywhere else,so you can't say that they are rebadge anymore!The only thing they do is share plateforms ES350/Avalon and the RX350/Highlander(note: the Highlander still uses a 3.3liter V6 not 3.5 liter V6 like the RX350).

In Japan, since before 2005, Lexuses have always been badged as Toyota models (looking identical to their US-spec versions), such as the Toyota Celsior vs. Lexus LS430, or Toyota Soarer vs. Lexus SC300.

Nissan also badges a few models that are Infinitis here as Nissans in Japan, as well as Honda/Acura. It's nothing new or different.

Thats the "past" Lexus products,but the new L-finess vehicles are no longer rebadge,yet you german boys still call it rebadged..Stop living in the PAST,Lexus has left the Toyota nest,and is now an independently designed brand!!!

Never mind those German nuts. They got the VW/AUDI rebadge more than anyone in which AUDI doesn't even bother to change to RWD for the rebadge. And that's why nobody takes AUDI seriously, not because the plain design, questionable quality, but because this FWD. That's knida pathetic, especially that they do have some good car like RS4 and R8.

yes this is the new Skyline Sedan or the G35 Sedan in US.I want to ask whether we will get that 3.5 with 315BHP.
One more thing what is the possibility of the 2.5l with 225BHP to be avavilable in US.
That's one great engine too(updated one).

I don't think that 2.5 V6 NA should be included as it'll confuse the brand image, in both performance and pricing. The only possibility is to turbocharge the 2.5 to replace the 3.5 NA, which is quite feasible and has many advantages. It'll also help to push the current M's engines from 4.5 to 5.0 and 3.5 to, say, 3.7.
Of course, these are all number game. What Infiniti really needs is to have a flatter torque delivery in their already powerful engine and a 6-speed auto gearbox.

Anybody notice Nissan have two 2.5l engine.One I4 and the other V6.

As i said it earlier we meed that 2.5 V6 with 225 BHP.

I do not like it...
Seeing the Nissan badge on the G35 doesn't seem right.
Cheapens the look..
Still a good car though.
But lets wait for the GT-R.

No doubt G35 is getting so close to BMW3 again. Owning both, I'm always amazed by how Infiniti can get to BMW so effortlessly and suddenly. This car is almost the size of 5 series, yet it handles like a 3 series and drives way better than 5. What Infiniti now really needs is a smoother, 6-speed gear box, higher body rigidity, better building quality, and, dare I say, turboed 2.5L I-4 engine, similar to Mazdaspeed 3, for better weight distribution and lower mass center. All of these will settle down in 2 or 3 generations. By then, people will say, "What 3 series? Mazda 3?"
