Audi, Seat, VW, Skoda are essentially the same things since they share parts and platforms, engines and transmissions. I think Audi needs to distance themselves from these brands because in my eyes it doesn't make them premium enough.

Htay, are you what Huu calls an "FOB?" (as an AA myself, i think that's a disrespectful term; New Immigrant is better. if you have an even better term, i'll use that.)

why do you guys worship german iron, in preference to the better asian brands?

you see the sti on my sig? yes you do because Im a subaru fan.

"why do you guys worship german iron, in preference to the better asian brands?"

asian brands have their upsides, but they also seem to have their downsides as well. germans, let alone european brands have their on ups and downs too. and as an asian, you have to understand lots of innovations from the automobile came from europe. cars from different places have their own kinds of tastes. and american brands (GM for the most part) are improving. I'd check out the malibu before the camry. toyota and honda (save the fit) are becoming really bland and boring and I'd put subaru and mazda above them. and you tend to think asian cars are the best because of CR. they don't run my life. if you're the normal consumer who isn't into cars, yes. but if you have a huge passion for cars, then don't let them make your decisions. cr may recommend something, but those who take part in the survey are not every single person in the country that owns it.

Sharing parts and platforms reduces cost due to economies of scale for those items. Audi stands out as a premium vehicle by virtue of better interior materials, superior fit and finish and enhanced equipment levels.

Plus Audi is responsible for most of the technology development within VAG. By the way ignorant Taylor, Audi has its own platforms. What does Lexus have other than guised up Toyotas.

you must work for AUDI what a bunch of marketing crap....my point...while EVERYONE here knows the point of sharing platforms, when GM does it there is a problem, when Lexus does it than they are nothing more than a Toyota, when Acura does it oh its just a Honda, same with Nissan. AUDI is nothing more than a mix of hand me down VW group parts that are being shared across several brands and models, and there is no problem with that?? Not to mention the interior quality of AUDI is no better than VW, and neither is its fit and finish, nor reliability history. Anything for the most part that is available equipment wise on a Audi is available on a VW, or Skoda, or Seat. They even share similar desighn language. With seat being the most original.

BTW, if you guys read the article, this new SEAT is using the LAST generation A4's chassis.

NOT the new one.

Htay7500 ..

Look under Production and you'll see why Lexus surpasses anything Toyota, far more than Audi over VW.

wonder how the average audi guy feels when he realizes he is driving a Seat..

same as a bentley owner who realizes he is driving a POS Phaeton??? hahah

audi and VW are certainly headed for trouble.. when the average guys figures out the fwd gussied up SEATs show up in theri driveways but they are made fun of by theri richer and more successful counterparts who dirve Bimmers and Benzs

hmm...is that why the 7-Series finishes at the bottom of all premium luxury comparisons and the A8L and S-Class finish on top. Now, that is real premium status idiot.

Aren't you the one that drive a 10 year old BMW? Doubt you are one of those rich and successful BMW and MB owners you so like to associate yourself. Oh, yes, the call those poseurs. If the shoe fits....well, you know the saying.

Or is that why the 7 series doesn't even sell half as much as the A8 in Europe?

atleast its not as bad as wondering about the ROLLS drivers that figure out they are driving a BMW 7 series. I couldnt tell you how many times i have seen a 7 series with one headlight not working.

thats not what i really think about the Rolls, but im just using ur view on the world. Lamborghini shares parts with AUDI, and you have never heard anyone say they suck...and id like to see any BMW go up against a Laborghini or AUDI r8 any day :) not to mention the RS division aswell.

or the Bentley driver that figured out the Phaeton that tanked, is what they are driving right? or that the Arnage has been around for the most part since 98 right? see how this works 2 ways not to mention the RS "line" of cars. Has been beateb by more than one bmw car and not to mention other cars. The R8 is just a lamborghini with a new desighn of course BMW doesnt have a Gallardo competitor nor does it have another division to simply take its technology, and platforms, and parts, and everything else, put in a cheaper engine voila la, a new invention yeah right
