New entry-level Ferrari won’t be called Dino, will produce 430-hp
We recently brought you a short video of the upcoming 2+2 Ferrari that has come to be known as the Dino. Get rid of that name from your mind, because according to sources who spoke with CAR, the entry level Ferrari that will go head-to-head with the Porsche 911s won’t be called the Dino.

Codenamed F149, the 2+2 coupe will carry a price tag of around £150,000 putting it between the F430 and the 599GTB. Riding on a rear-wheel-drive platform produced by Maserati, the F149 will be a front-engined GT instead of mid-engined like the old Dino.

While its been said that the F149 will carry the...

I've owned a lot from Itally and love the cars but for the same or better performance can anybody say "base Corvette"? Take the Vette for $50k and spend the balance of about $120k on a S63 Merc.

Why is this called 'entry-level' if it's going to be slotted between the F430 and 599GTB?

Well, at least Ferrari has an answer to the Nissan GT-R and LF-A that's coming out.

150000 pounds? That's more than the F430...I don't understand!

if this is supposed to compete with the 911, what does the f430 compete with, the boxster/cayman?

bizzare logic. but it should be a fun car.

I don't think this car answer the GTR or LFA at all.1st it's going to be RWD and the engine N/A. If it has 430HP thats less HP then both the Japs.In addition it will probably have significantly less torque. If the price is more then the the F430 then it is not entry level at all.But of course it will become the entry level car once the F430 is replaced.Ferrari is an ultra exclusive rarified brand only for the ultra rich. It really is into a market by itself.Perhaps Aston Martin is now considered competition. Porsche cannot be because it sells in a totally different price range. However in terms of performance you have to still say that most brands have yet to crack the dynamic capabilites of the Nissan GTR. Certainly no brand can match it's performance to price ratio.

no one is trying to answer the LF-A. Once it comes out, beats the germans/italians/americans and flies noone gives a shit about the LF-A. IS-F - great competition but no cigar so the LF-A is what you cling to! Let it come out and run the track first. Last time Lexus fans overhyped something it was ho-hum.

GTR has super human performance compared to the comp. But it will sit in some guys garage for weekend tracking. Its not a show stopping weekend driver like the exotics.

Buy a GTR and try to upstage a Ferrari/Lambo/911 Turbo, etc off the track. You'll be gone while eveyone listens and looks and says, damn that Ferrari/Lambo/911 Turbo is hot. What was that Nissan racing for?

All forget that while performance is king for braggin rights and tracking, there's nothing worse than being the loud ostentation a-hole on the block.

i own an M3, and its funny how i no one other than G35/37 drivers and tuners try to check if the M3 has the performance the rags talk about.

For some reason... the words ENTRY LEVEL and FERRARI don't really go together for me

Apparently this author thinks that any Ferrari below the Enzo is an "entry level" car. Which, by that logic, pretty much makes every single car in the world "Entry level".
