Next-generation Chrysler 300: Little changes on the outside, 'huge leap' on the inside
While Chrysler may be shifting its focus to small cars, it has no plans on killing the iconic 300 sedan. Work is underway on the next-generation 300 and all of Chrysler’s 23 design staff is working on the car. Vehicle designer Lou Gasevski says that work is “in process – almost done.”

Gasevski said that Chrysler is following the Porsche way of things. “They change a little bit about the car, but it’s still modern.”

However, while the exterior will be ‘evolutionary’ the interior, according to Gasevski, will make a ‘huge leap.’ He said that designing a luxurious interior with the cheap and hard plastics Chrysler once relied on was difficult. Things are now...

I just hope Chrysler does not screw up with this car. The 300 is one the best looking US cars in a while.

"over gorown RR phantom?" How is that even possible when the Phantom is nearly three feet longer?

hao420, put a chrysler 300 next to a phantom and then make that comment. A Chrysler 300 looks like a Chrysler 300! And Phantom like a Phantom.

While they're at it, make 22" bling rims and a Bentley grill standard. It will save a lot of people a lot of time and money.

Might as well throw in some Crown air fresheners with each purchase, too.

Uh oh. This does not look good. The Chrysler 300 & Dodge Charger were derived from an old Mercedes E-class platform. They're getting a bit long in the tooth. A lot more is needed than an interior refresh.

I think this is about design not 'architecture'.

an interior refresh wouldnt hurt at all though. lately, the dodge/chrysler interiors were analogous to the inside of a plastic cooler or something; really plain, boring, cheap, nothing to write home about.

its about time they revamp the interors.

I think they are talking about not much will change in terms of design. If they are truely taking the Porsche philosophy that is.

This is the car that will determine their future as a company. The 300C i thought was amazing when it first came out. It was bold but not beautiful. It had road presence like no other domestic full size car. The exterior had the looks of an executive saloon but the interior was plagued with cheap quality materials. I hope the "huge leap" is justifiable.

The 300 is a nice looking car, not exactly exciting, in my book, but definitely not offensive. But the interior could use a lot of upgrading, so I hope they really mean it when they say "huge leap".

The article implies that this leap will appear in other Chrysler badges--if they upgrade the interior quality of the Jeep Grand Cherokees, I'd definitely consider one.
