By the way, Carlso Ghosn was the one that drove the pre-production prototype GT-R at a record speed of 7:35sec with a top speed of 193MPH.

My goodness, what a chopped up mess of a car design.

I don't care how fast this car is I would buy such an ugly lob lolly.

A Ferrari and Corvette are sexy, but this Datsun looks like a tractor.

There is not a single Nissan or Infiniti I would buy based on design.

They look like crap.

There is no one stupider on AutoSpies than EL34 based on his posts.

Herb, ofcourse we all know that you smoke herbs but I think you must have bought either the post potent sh8t or some nasty sh8t cuz you sure are stupid. I'm glad you aint buying a GTR cuz you're not cool enough to own one and probably cant even afford one.

The japanese can NOT design a good looking car. It's physically impossible. They can copy or immitate other designs but they can NOT design something original that looks halfway decent.

I respectfully disagree in this case. I think this particular design is awesome.

Seriously now, the RX-8/CX-7/CX-9/6/3, (current) Lexus IS/LS, Acura TL, Infiniti G35,Nissan Murano/Altima Coupe et al are some of the best looking vehicles in their respective classes.

This GT-R is certainly not pretty, but I believe that was the intention... Distinctive Aggression!

To Each Their Own...

"I respectfully disagree in this case. I think this particular design is awesome."

No, it looks funny, immature and very Japanese. Those are all bad things. It looks a bit vulgar and overdone too. Basically it's all wrong.

But who cares? Skylines always were ugly but they were awesome to drive. And that's what I care about. I only wish Nissan will make a proper 6-speed manual.

Exactly, it's an "awesome" design if you're a 17 year old kid. I'm sorry, did you just use an example of Mazdas car desgins to prove your point? You serious? Mazda made only one halfway decent car in it's entire history. I'm not even going to comment on the rest of the cars you just listed.

what point are YOU (njshift) trying to prove? all japanese cars look bad? I agree that some do look bad and awkward but even some cars from europe look bad. theres 7-series, r-class, even the jetta/rabbit, which looks like a tweaked corolla.

All I have to say to all of you who say that this car doesnt look good and that the Japanese cannot make good looking cars is: 7 Series, 5 Series, R Class, Jetta, Q7, Cayenne, Phaeton, every Jaguar; ALL HEDIOUS CARS. And that's just to mention a few.
But it's ok, keep crying cuz I'm enjoying every second of it.

@I only wish Nissan will make a proper 6-speed manual.

There already is a 6MT version of the GTR only it isn't ready for production because nissan is having problems with the emissions of the 6MT.

Its disturning the way some folks on this site cannot say "job well done" as long as its a Japanese car. I like good cars I dont care who makes em. The are some pretty hideous euro cars out there I dont hear you guys complaining (I am looking at you 7 series, Passat and SLR).

Last time I checked we're all allowed to have opinions. Not everything people say on this site will be positive. Get over it.

Although you can certainly expect negativity more out of some then others. Its perfectly exceptable to have personal opinions as long as you don't put someone elses opinion down.

To each their own when it comes to taste. I think Nissan made a mistake by not keeping the front lower valance vents as in the concept. The front end looks odd. Not sure why people are saying this car will change the super car market...why? Please indulge. If the numbers are true then it is a good price/performance monster.

I hope Nissan does not skimp on quality and fit/finish to save costs. I am a big fan muscle cars and I am still trying to comprehend how the GT-R is faster 0-60 and 1/4mi than the Z06 when it has less HP and weighs nearly 700lbs more. Nissan either has a great drivetrain with little power loss to the wheels or under stating the true HP. Hmmmm?

I agree a lot with everyone here on designs. To some, the Japanese designs are ugly and to some Europeans are ugly. I can appreciate all designs from all countries. The biggest problem is the people who doubted the performance of the car...7:38 on the Nurburgring. For those of you who agreed with Mizuno-san and said it would be in the 7:55 range, i believe you are all eating your words. It will flat out RUN and CORNER!! You can't do those kinds of numbers without having the whole package.
