Nissan GT-R fleet arrives in Florida
The feeling of a fresh new car is something that is totally irreplaceable. Imagine if that fresh new smell was the smell of one of the hottest car of the year.

Seen here is a brand new fleet of Nissan GT-Rs that recently arrived at Jacksonville, Florida. So yes - Godzilla has landed. If you’re one of the lucky few that ordered a GT-R, one of these units may be your car.

Agreed. Very exciting to see a fleet of hot, new cars awaiting delivery. But whose hairy arm is that on the door handle? And why is he (she?) wearing a woman's watch with painted fingernails? Yikes!

Porches are designed for people in need of male enhancement. You, unfortunately, need an even stronger prescription.

You're not an entusiast you're a tool.

Star,

"Welcome to the boy racer world where 0 to 60 is the only measure for quality"

You also forgot to mention how the GT-R is also faster than a 911 turbo on the Nurburgring.

It's so funny how you say that anyone that doesn't agree with you is brainwashed. It just shows how little respect you have for others, and ultimately yourself. Do you know how ridiculous you look when you trash other people? How do you expect anyone to take you seriously unless you show some rational thought? Go ahead, say something derogatory, eveyone will just think what they already know.

Star... Good luck finding a Porsche for 70K (except for a Cayman or Boxster)-which even as a Porsche driver, theres no shame in admitting that the GTR gives just about every Porsche a performance run (and exceeds many).

bulldogz .. yes it is faster than cars costing more, but when you buy a Ferrari, the performance is only a 1/3 or 1/4 of why you buy one. Whereas in regards to the GTR that is the only reason. I wish people would quit comparing and saying that the GTR is a far superior car to Ferrari, Aston martin, Lamborghini , etc ... fools

An interesting fact :

Porsche was in bad shape financially in the early 90's. Guess who they consulted to make sure they still make profit ?

answer : TOYOTA

Congratulations to any of those who will own one of these.

To my fellow German fans lets not attack the GT-R today. It's a good moment for those who have ordered one. They'll enjoy it. Porsche Turbo owners are in a different market. The GT-R is a great car. Quality and all that I'm not sure of but performance wise it's a marvel.

I agree... the Porsche 911 appeals to a very different sort of enthusiast. I think those shopping for a 911 would not consider a Nissan under any circumstances. I admire what Nissan has done here, but it has zero appeal (for me). The 911, on the other hand, is my favorite car of all time.

Also the GT-R was never available here in Canada and the US so with it's introduction here it has been hyped up for a long time now so all the popularity started from the Playstation games and brewed its way to reality for them.

I don't blame them because the GT-R is the king in Japan. I hope Honda makes a new NSX and Toyota makes a Supra replacement (although they have an LF-A coming out). It'll be some healthy competition in Japan when they do.

If you don't like or respect the GT-R and what Nissan accomplished with it, remember - it beat the competition in their own backyard. They'll be hitting back though. Hard. And that means better products from both sides.. Nothing wrong with that!

What competition are you talking about? The GT-R is alone in its segment, just like EVO and STI were. It offers unbelievable performance for the money but in an econo package. It competes with a Porsche in the same way an EVO or STI compete with a M BMW or AMG Mercedes. Performance numbers are one thing and what a car represents as a whole package, a different thing. I don't know what is so hard to understand.

For WHATEVER EXCUSES for not comparing the 911 with the GTR ( despite all global motoring journalist had used all sorts of 911 to to test it against ), the time has finally come that porsche drivers in the U.S will be looking closely their rear view mirror with a little sweat of fear, of a datsun.

If I'm in the market for 911, I will probably have some second thought considering with the amount of money, I'll be eating GTR's dusts.

If you buy a Porsche so you can be an idiot racer you are doing it for the wrong reasons. There are plenty of cars faster than a 911 Porsche. A modded EVO can easily beat a huge number of supercars when it comes to performance but in the end is still just an EVO. Same goes for the GT-R. Nissan obviously built more of a tuner car than a real sports car. The GT-R is fast, no doubt about that but not everybody wants a $70K car that has the interior swapped directly from the Sentra.
It is unbelievable that people rank a street car based entirely on performance numbers. This is a not a race car and we are not paid to win races. The only time when numbers are the only thing that counts is when you are a racer driver. It doesn't matter how the car feels or sounds, all that counts is having the fastest car and winning the race.
However, in real life where numbers are NOT IMPORTANT you will trade(if you are smart) a few tenths of a second in order to get a car that offers a superior DRIVING EXPERIENCE.

what do you use for then? to show it off to your rich friends? no one needs to get paid in order to race around a track. thats what track events are for...

why bash a car that you haven't been in or driven yet?

Htay,

What part you don't understand? The Porsche is more than fast enough for a street car. Why not drive a car that looks better, sounds better and has better built quality like the Porsche? Who in the right mind is ready to give up all this to be a few tenths of a second faster in a street car?
The GT-R is the show off car that the guys with small ****s like to brag about. You buy a Porsche so you can enjoy the driving experience without needing to prove anything to anybody. Why buy the GT-R? So you can brag with the other boy racers in parking lots that you can beat Porsches at stoplights? Already done by the numb-skulls who own EVOs.

If I were to buy a porsche, say a track version, GT3, I would not risk it on public roads to drive it on limits. I would take it on a track, say on a track day and end up chasing GTR's tail or looking out for it in the rear view mirror.

Street racing is out now, btw kid. We go track days now. We did street racing over ten years ago - and these were mainly japanese mods.

The new GTR and Porsche owners don't do street racing. They play their toys on track. The new GTR is not meant for street racing. Nissan didnt spent years on the nurburgring to produce $70k street car. Nurburgring is not a street.

And it's not designed for tuners in mind too ( though this did not stop the tuners), like the previous cars with gentlemen agreement 286bhp power cap.

The new GTR seems superior on track, as tested by reputable journalists (mostly known to be pro-porsche), and they were not even trying hard on the GTR.

If an Evo or STi can sometimes be faster than porsche, GTR may be taking us to another level of driving experience; ie faster cornering speed, braking, gear change etc.

Not porsche experience, but something else.

And when you're on the track, you race. and when you race, winning is everything. It's not about coming second, not about oversteer experience, not about style and sound. Its winning and breaking away from the car behind. and few tenths of a second does count here after few laps.

mwrmmq,"And when you're on the track, you race. and when you race, winning is everything"

Ha, ha, ha...I never read a more ridiculous statement in my life. You mean those bold, fat middle age guys going to the track are there to win?
I can tell that you never been to a track in your entire life. If you think going to a track has anything to do with winning you need a reality check. People go there so they can spend time with their friends and have FUN with their cars.
Are you that naive to think people are going there to risk their lives by driving the cars at the limit? What a joke!
A lot of Internet warriors(fake) that are so easy to spot every time they try to get in a serious argument.
People are pissing their pants just by driving cars at 50% of potential. They are amateurs. Do you understand? Doctors, lawyers, football players, golf players and so on. You compare this with a real race??? Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha..........

I think that its actually a complement for the GTR to be compared to a 911 for both brands. Its a complement to the GTR to get compared to one of the best in the industry, and its a complement for the 911 (Turbo in particular) that the engineers at Nissan are using them as the benchmark.

The only question I have is (serious one): Why are they in Florida? Is that where Nissan ship their cars? and isnt that a little far from Japan (Whereas many other port cities may be closer)? Does anybody know?

if possible, it could come over here to the Baltimore port, about less than a hrs drive from dc metro, and has the largest port in holding mostly cars. I just realized the GTR doesn't come to europe until 09 so thats kind of odd for nissan to ship them in the east coast here.

I don't understand why all the hatred towards the Porsche guys. The Nissan GT-R is a great, great car. No one has doubted that fact. I'm in the market for a 911 S for my wife, and although she likes the GT-R's mechanical good looks, she likes the 911 S looks better, and she absolutely loves the steering feel of the 911 S.

These are two completely different cars. I don't think anyone in the market for a 911 will be looking the GT-R. But we can all put our biases aside, and just look at the Porsche's sales numbers after the GT-R takes delivery to see if they are affected.
