Initially offered for sale in Japan in December 2007, the Nissan GT-R has received several minor enhancements to get it to the present 2010 model year Series II specs.
Simultaneously, the company also premiered the lighter and stiffer SpecV model, which also caused a whole series of new improvements for the supercar. Included in the upgrades to the regular GT-R are suspension adjustments to enhance road handling and driver feedback, a 5hp (4kW) boost in potency, and revisions to the gearbox control software to improve acceleration and consistency. Nissan has made the electronic upgrades available to customers without additional cost, but currently the firm is also making some of the mechanical enhancements as a retrofit upgrade.
