Nissan Quest, Armada and Infiniti QX56 likely to be phased out

The Armada and QX56 SUV's will not be missed. In my opinion, those two have to be the ugliest SUV's out there. That roofline is just so strange.

The Quest,QX56,and the Armada are goin to be buit in Japan due to quality issues in Canton plant.Havent heard if Nissan will axe these vehicle due to loss in projected sales.

Agree. What a bunch of ugly gas hogs. It's about time they got rid of these porker vehicles.

They are built with some of the cheapest plastics I have seen in any vehicle. I have sat in a QX56 and the plastics seem to be at the same level as a Prius, but the Prius has the excuse of being an econo car whereas the QX is supposed to be an bold and beautiful (Escalade-like) but it's an epic fail.

QX4 = much better. In my opinion they should have kept the QX4.

The QX56 should never have been. However, the Armada is one hell of an SUV. My motherinlaw has never had an issue. And the thing gets up and goes; can't say the same for SUVs like the Ford Expedition(atleast not the late model), and the Chevy Tahoe.

The mpgs suck horribly though. The low gas prices help.

First of all, the Nissan/Infiniti full size SUVs have already been slated to to be replaced with Japanese built unibody SUVs in 2010, so this is absolutely no new news. The only speculation here is that they may not bring a large 7-8 passenger SUV to replace it. Given that the current plan is to bring it over and offer a DIESEL, I see no reason why they wouldn't. My guess is that the next version could be a version of the Japanese built Nissan Patrol and in line with the Infiniti Kuraza concept. Basically like a Mercedes GL which is an absolutely amazing full size SUV.

To say that the QX56 is a failure is horribly wrong. So you don't like the roofline, OK. They plastics were horrible as they were in the 1st gen G35 and FX. Escalade pretender? Really? With a better ride with IRS (also giving fold flat 3rd row seats), quicker acceleration than any other full size until Caddy came out w/ the 400hp version. Now with the mid model change for 2008, the electronic toys cannot be touched by any other in the class. Aside from a better looking exterior, the QX is absolutely top of the full size body on frame group.
