Nissan Sells Out GT-R in Europe
Nissan says it has taken a year's worth of orders — more than 1,500 — from European customers for the new GT-R, which won't reach dealers until next March.
In the meantime, the initial allocation of 2008 GT-Rs is sold out in the U.S., where the first cars should start arriving in July. Nissan said it has already taken orders for 60 percent of next year's U.S. allocation.
In Europe, much of the demand is coming from the U.K., where Nissan presold 950 GT-Rs in the first month. The order book officially opened on April 2.
Nissan said GT-Rs will be delivered to European customers through 56 Nissan High Performance Centres, which will pamper owners with such perks as free pickup for scheduled service, a vacation planning service and even a "home assistance" program that will provide access to plumbers, locksmiths, electricians and other services.
What this means to you: If you don't hustle in your GT-R order soon, you may wind up waiting until model-year 2010. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent

Not surprised. My local Nissan dealer here in the states has already sold six, and has preoderd for more if they get them. All ranging between 90,000-110,000 dollars.
And i was hoping to find one at sticker. lol

It's good to see that even at £1.24 per litre ($9.20 per US Gallon).. we still buy cars like this in the UK :)

In Japan they take Ferraris seriously and now I think that its about time for Europeans to take a look at a new variety range of import tuners

Was Nissan ever able to implement their idea of voiding warranties for reseller/scalpers to dealers?
I thought it was a cool idea, but kind of stretch to make it happen.

Middle East orders were 3000 Plus. Looks like GT-R is sold out everywhere.

The Ferrari still has a unique mystique all its own, but the Nissan GT-R is the king of the Playstation generation. It's high tech, explosive performance image is very different to that of Ferrari, but one that needs to be taken seriously. The fact is, Ferraris are still as beautiful and fast as ever, but in terms of outright performance, you can now get comparable (and in some conditions superior) for a fraction of the cost.
