Nissan dealers last month said that they will take over the 2009 Detroit Auto Show display abandoned by the automaker.

According to sources, the dealers will not have an presence in Detroit next week due to Nissan’s request.

I'm confused about this and ive been thinking this for awhile about some of these companies. Is anyone else wondering if they are quietly protesting the Detroit Auto Show? If the dealers want to come up with the money, than what is the big deal about them not being there. I wonder if the bail out has something to do with so many companies bailing on the detroit show.....it just seems a bit to ironic.

Don't think it will hurt them much, as they have enough buzz with the GT-R, 370Z, & G37. They will probably be ok without appearing at the show.
