Nissan wants to stop sourcing hybrid components from rival Toyota

Hybrids are in demand around the world today as many governments offer rebates and incentives to get consumers to buy cars that get better fuel economy.

Most of the world's automakers are working on hybrid and electric vehicle technology.

That's good. At least their attempting to create their own. We all know Nissan's engineering team has the ability to create wonderful technology. Renault should help as well.

The obama administration accused the US Auto manufactures and others of building cars that people dont want. Hammering the fact that the consumer wants alternative energy cars and more fuel efficent vehicles in general. So now that all manufactures are on the hybrid, electric etc bandwagon,,,, why are there all of the incentives with rebates to get people to by these vehicles? My point being yes we want fuel efficency and also full sized trucks and suv's. There should be no incentives if buyers want them. Let the manufactures build what they want to build and let the consumer decide what they will buy. We dont need the GOV to decide what any manufacture builds..Manufactures of any product know there customer base better than anyone.
