Lexus, which lost its crown as the top-selling luxury auto brand in the U.

S. last year, increased sales 34 percent last month to push past Mercedes-Benz and BMW.

It's the first time Toyota's luxury brand beat both of its German competitors to be No. 1 in monthly sales since December 2010 before inventory was hurt by last year's natural disasters in Asia. Lexus sold 24,237 vehicles in August, the company said in a statement.

The BMW brand, after surging in July with the help of incentives aimed at encouraging dealers to buy demo vehicles, declined 19 percent in August to 16,835.

they all do deals. it's product that is driving sales now. Lexus has revamped 3 key models (ES, GS and refreshed RX), and sales are now paying off. Sad day here at Germanspies!!!

There wasn't that much money used in incentives...Only the 12 es and that was 1000.00 rebate. BMW and Mercedes spends way more money.....

During the summer, car makers run super discount sales and rebates. Looks like Lexless ran the biggest discounts which account for their sales blip.

And you're still failing to realizie that America isn't the only place on the planet. Mitsu is doing fine. They've been profitable from 2007 onwards. Why do you do that? Why do you ignore the rest of the planet?

Let me get this straight. You said that Mistu is almost dead, while at the same time you post an article that shows that they've been turning a profit. Are they dead? Go ahead contradict yourself some more.

Here’s a quote from the article you posted. Keep in mind that you said that they were almost dead.

yes, the leading maker of fancy camrys (or avalons. or corrollas. note that the ES accounted for the vast majority of gains this month.
