As the Mercedes-Benz C-Class' US debut approaches — it'll be in showrooms in only a matter of weeks — we've been eager to see where it will land in terms of pricing. Would it be MORE competitive than its rivals? Would the C-Class go a bit more upmarket considering the all-new CLA-Class gives it breathing room?

It seems Mercedes chose the latter. Rightfully so, if you ask us.

Base pricing for the all-new C300 model will start at $38,400. Here's the catch though, folks: that model won't be available until Q1 2015. Cars heading to the dealer for next month's launch will feature 4MATIC drivetrains and start at $40,400.

Mercedes-Benz Announces Pricing on Highly Anticipated 2015 C-Class and GLA Models

Mercedes-Benz announced today pricing on two of its most eagerly awaited models – the all-new 2015 C-Class sedan and entry-level GLA SUV. The C-Class sedan will start at a Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $38,400 for the four-cylinder C300, and $48,590 for the C400 4MATIC sedan. The all-new GLA starts at $31,300 for the two-wheel drive GLA250 and $48,300 for the 355 hp all-wheel drive GLA45 AMG. The C-Class will launch later this month followed by the GLA in September.

The all-new 2015 C-Class raises the bar yet again with new levels of cutting edge technology, safety, expressive design and sophistication. Much of the new safety equipment which first debuted on the new S-Class last year appears now in the new C-Class including COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS, a radar-based system which can brake autonomously to avoid collisions or minimize their effects in combination with PRE-SAFE which prepares the vehicle if a collision is imminent.

The 2015 GLA establishes a new entry point to the Mercedes-Benz family of SUVs. Wrapped in a versatile yet sophisticated package with powerful design language and sporty proportions the GLA features a high level of standard equipment including COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS with autonomous braking, power lift gate, chrome roof rails, bluetooth, electronic parking brake, and power front seats with memory.
