The Acura NSX is one of those cars from the 1990s and early 2000s that resonates with just about everyone. You don't have to be a car geek to see that vehicle and be drawn to it.

According to Honda though, it sounds like you won't have to even give it much thought after you drive the all-new Civic Type R. The major Japanese automaker is saying that this Type R will eclipse all previous Type R models, including the NSX. Bold statement, no doubt.

Although the company is remaining mum on the power output, they have said it will produce over 275 horsepower and rev to the 7,000 mark via  2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged motor. Oh, and it will feature a proper six-speed manual. No flappy paddles here!

Aside from that, the other big news is what's being called Steer Axis. Essentially it will be some sort of witchcraft that's meant to eliminate torque steer, as seen in other high-performance, front-wheel drive vehicles.

No word if it will make it stateside.
