PARIS MOTOR SHOW QUICK PICS: These Are The Wheels To Get When You Order Your New 7 Series
001 told me about them and I didn't believe him, until now.  But I have to say these optional wheels on the New 7 Series have to be the best I have seen in quite sometime.

These ultra cool wheels actually have an aerodynamic surface that pulls the air through them to coll the brakes.  Just the ticket for those back road excursions at high speed.  So when checking off the options for that new 7 Series these are a must have!

I don't care about chunky but I am concerned about curb damage when parking as the spokes are not protected by the tires. Also, where are the protective side moldings to prevent lo-fifes from dinging your doors in parking lots?

Those wheels and that color make that Seven Series look fantastic. It is an excellent evolution of the previous models.

I wonder how well this new F01/F02 7-series BMW will ride on streets where the pavement is less then perfect or not smooth on these big diameter and wide section rims and low profile tires.

I would love to see deep dish cross spoke rim on this new 7er like the Sport Package rims from the 1998 thru 2000 BMW E39 528i instead of 17" be in 19".

Deep dish rims are weaker at the point the rim needs to be strongest during hard cornering and deep dish rim create more aerodynamic drag. From an aesthetic standpoint, creating spokes that reach all the way out to touch the tire makes the wheel look larger. If you put on a dishy wheel of the same size you lose strength, brake clearance, aerodynamic efficiency, and visual impact of wheel size. Nonetheless, I like dishy rims, too.

that is a hot set of wheels looks like the old 760 optional 21 inch wheels but they are curved in which draws the cool air to the brakes. But I do agree I would like to see bimmer take this wheel and make it a deep dish wheel that would set the new 7 series off.

They look nice, I prefer them over wheels with 100 spokes (the 7 has something like that) although the design for them to pull air and cool the brakes is nothing new.

I like these wheels for what they do but I have never liked 5-spoke design wheels on a large car. A design that is more intricate better suits a larger car...

BMW used brake cooling wheel asemmblies on the E34 M5 from 1989 to 1995, so just relax.

"The M5 came with an unusual wheel design. From 1988-1992 the M5 featured the M-System wheels. These wheels were 8x17J, but came with directional bolted-on wheel covers. Under the cover was a black 5-spoke alloy wheel. In 1992 BMW changed the design and a new cover was produced – the M-System II. The original intent of the M-System cover was to direct more air to the brake assembly to increase cooling. The cover actually integrated a fin assembly behind the cover. The M-System II covers, known as the "throwing stars" did not have as much capability to direct air to the brake assemblies. In May 1994, the M5 came with M Parallel wheels that did away with the cover."

These "21's" are nice but the car looks a little high. They are really made for the F01 with the Sport Package.........

but they should adopt technology to make them heat less rather than going for an alternative way

All wheels have the function of moving air past the brakes. That's why even steel wheels with hubcaps have ventilation.
They are good looking wheels though.

Bland... especially for BMW, a company with a history of releasing innovative and aggressive looking wheels.

Um, that is hot as hell! Love those rims. I'm digging the new 7 now, but when I saw with those fatty 5 spokers, it just sealed it. I want one. Are you saying they will be standard sport package rims? I noticed the best Bimmer rims nowadays are like 4k options, like the 21inchers on the X5 or the Style 199 for the 3er (you can see them on the 335d in the Paris gallery).

Lots of wheels from lots of manufacturers in the past have been designed to do this... a style that was fitted to the E31 8 series and the E34 5 series had this 'feature' as well. and for the record I don't like the look of the wheels above.

I got to say I really like the new 7 series. Welcome back baby. If I had the money, I would buy an LS460L and this new 750iL. I love those two bad machines.

I think you mean they are supposed to "cool" the brakes, not "coll" them.

I like the preview 7 series rear part and the new one also, in this new 7 series I don't like the angle of the front grille is at 90 grade and prefer something with more tilt like a 12 or maybe 15 grade when you see the front lateral view of this new car. Are anyone agree with me in this detail???
