PHOTO GALLERY: Finally, the winning recipe to beat the BMW 3-Series?
The all-new 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe combines the exhilarating performance, stunning styling and modern, sporty interior of the original Infiniti G Coupe and accelerates each to new levels. Among the key enhancements to the new second-generation G Coupe are a larger, more powerful 3.7-liter V6 engine, available advanced 4-Wheel Active Steer system, a dramatic new exterior design and a refined interior with intuitive, integrated technology. The G37 Coupe joins the recently introduced, all-new 2007 Infiniti G35 Sedan in Infiniti showrooms nationwide on August 21st.

“The new G35 Sedan, which has been named to both Car and Driver’s ‘10 Best Cars’ and Automobile magazine’s ‘All-Stars’ list, has set the stage for the new 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe,” said Mark Igo, vice president and general manager, Infiniti Division. “The new Coupe builds on the styling, performance and interior enhancements of the G Sedan, adding the dynamic style, sporty atmosphere and expressive driving character expected of a class-leading luxury sport coupe. The line starts here.”

Exhilarating Performance From a New Engine Design Leading the enhancements to the 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe is the first-ever application of the new 3.7-liter V6 engine with VVEL (for Variable Valve Event and Lift). Rated at 330 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque, the new “VQ37VHR” contains approximately 35 percent new and unique parts from the new VQ35HR engine introduced in the 2007 G35 Sedan just last year.

Both the Coupe’s VQ37VHR and the Sedan’s VQ35HR engines are based on the award-winning VQ engine series, named one of the “Ten Best Engines” by Ward’s Auto World magazine for 13 consecutive years.

Enjoy the photos of our drive today in Seattle of this wickedly sexy ride.

And look for our full review and videos coming soon...

I didn't really see many changes to the interior. The seats look the same and the center console looks the same. The only thing that looks like it changed is the instrument cluster...to be honest it looks like what they put in the Toyotas. Still no room in the rear...no big surprise. Exterior's rounder...debatable. Not sure if I like the integrated chrome spoiler.

I'm no G expert so if somebody can point out the interior differences I'd appreciate it.

that proves that no one can sit in the rear seats. that was a good picture of headroom, but how bout one with the drivers seat adjusted and not pulled forward like it is. didnt think so. try the same thing on the 335 coupe and see the difference .

I think it is a great looking car.

But I have a question. Whats with the title? You cant name this something besides " BLAH BLAH BLAH 3 series BLAH BLAH BLAH?

I have an idea, lets make it as inflammatory as possible. How about "The King is Dead" like Motor Trend. Perhaps that would be sufficient enough to get everyone riled up.

For cryin out loud, this is a dam good car--proclaim it with a proper title that can stand on its own merits.

Actually at Motor Trend they still preferred the BMW, they said it was still the better car. It felt more solid, more of a quality product. But then it overheated and they were dissapointed and therefore the G37 won.

The new G37 look much more sportier than the 335i.

how about saying "in my opinion.....

" a dramatic new exterior design"

Yea right the damn thing looks exactly like the old G35 coupe. Dont get me wrong I think this car is a great car, I love infiniti, but come on! they barely made any body changes as far as looks go!

I disagree completely. I think it's a strikingly different look. I really like it, but I'm still thinking of picking up an '07 once the '08 hits the lots.

The cars design is really growing on me. It looks great from the front a side profiles, it's just that back end with it's obtrusive spoiler and giant taillights.

Simple Answer:
------------------

Autospies members or readers aint the buyers for BMW 335i. Everyone see more BMW in the street of North America than Infiniti. It jus take a lot of time 2 go thru their head. Jus 2 slow

I'll take a BMW 335i Coupe in Montego Blue Metallic with Cream Beige w/Dakota Leather Upholstery and Dark Burl Walnut Wood Trim any day of the week and twice on Sunday over this Infiniti.

Life is good in a BMW.

Now that Infinity has beaten BMW 3, Infinity and not BMW 3 should be the new benchmark against which all other small performance cars should be measured.
