Here it is! Something that we have all been waiting for! Now everyone can be on the PML band Wagon.
PML- The ultimate hybrid technology into a Mini Cooper.
One thing that I am certain of is the fact that we all love powerful performance vehicles! Another fact is that we are all suffering at the pump, especially the family suv people. Now here is the answer with no compromise to performance and double the fuel mileage of a Prius. There is an electric motor in each wheel. The good thing is that this technology could be in any vehicle, I bet A Hummer H-1 with this technology could be as efficient as a Prius or at least close?
Some key features:
-independent quad electric drive. (four wheel drive)
-traction control and anti skid built into each wheel.
-Regenerative braking recovers almost all energy.
-around 80mpg via onboard engine/generator.
-no need to recharge (although you can if you wish)
Emissions -0 for four hours
Autonomy - 1,500 km
Top Speed -240kph
Acceleration - 0-60MPH 4.5 seconds
Fuel - carbon neutral option
BHP - 640!

LOL truckmen!
Like I said before, vested interest. If not, then possibly an obsession.
Now this technology does sound very promising, especially the performance aspect, but I am probably not the best person to have a constructive argument on electric cars because I couldn't stand driving one personally.
However it is vital that this technology is pushed further, no arguments there.

Obsession! lol And I love the sound of a performance engine too, then again to what I hear from my tech friends is that electric out performs gas? I'll take what ever is cheaper to run.

It's a great idea. I read about it about maybe 2 years ago. Thought something like this would have the green. But the cost was a bit much - somewhere in high 5 figure or close to 6 figure digits.

How is the Prius more practical? This PML car achieves double the fuel mileage when the generator is going, and who knows what kind of fuel rating it achieves when it is running on the batteries for the first four hours, and aprox. 5 times the power at 640BHP! This technology in a Hummer H-1 would still out perform a Prius in fuel numbers and acceleration!

Sounds promising, but a few criticisms of the hyperbolic language.
"fuel - carbon neutral option" ?
So this thing either runs on fuel or re-chargeable batteries, right? Obviously, any carbon based fuel is not carbon neutral. But, neither is the rechargeable batteries unless you are plugging it into an electric source produced by a nuclear/wind/water plant?

"Fuel-carbon fuel option" I am certain that they are suggesting that you could run this vehicle for the first four hours on the batteries alone and then you could plug it in to recharge the batteries before the gas generator kicks in. And to be carbon neutral let's hope it is from renewable energy like tidal, wind or solar energy.

Mini lacks in the "ergonomics" department not the efficiency, performance department

Problem with this idea is the massively increased amount of unsprung weight. They make no mention as to how well it handles and my guess is that it doesnt. Second problem is the noise. Pancake motors tend to be very loud. But, I would LOVE to see this technology developed more.

The total increase in unsprung weight is less than 2kg.That surprised me too.PML's motor weighs 5x less than other motors of this size/

Problem with this vehicle that Governments will kill it due to lack of taxation opportunity.

You are right lokhankin! As a free and democratic country we have to take back the power to the people! In Canada almost 90% of people want GMO labeling on veggies and fruit but companies like Monsanto control the governments and refuse to allow labeling, just like the gas companies, they up the price whenever they feel like it! In ww-1 and WW-2 we fought for our freedom and look at who has us by the testies now! A democracy where you can vote for your favorite puppet, time for a change.
