PPI Tuned Audi R8
The PPI R8 and PPI R8 Razor – automobile lifestyle in carbon fibre
With the launching of the R8, Audi heats up against rivals Porsche, Ferrari and Bentley vigorously providing stiff competition. The Swabian, German tuners PPI Automotive Design GmbH, customize Audi’s flagship sportscar by stoking up the fire with even more coal going that extra mile by providing an enhanced look combined with improved driving dynamics. A wind tunnel-tested aerodynamic kit of carbon fibre in combination with a performance enhancement and special lightweight magnesium wheels in 19-inch dimensions provides measurably improved appearance whether on the race track or the elegant promenade of the elite jet set.

Optimised performance for better resilience and increased driving pleasure
The stage 1 kit produces an increase power output of the original motor from 309kw/420hp to 348kw/460hp and increases torque from 430Nm/317lb-ft to 465Nm/343lbs-ft. A performance kit with durable components designed by PPI consists of corrosion resistant stainless steel sport rear muffler with throttle system. Just beginning at low-end torque, the resulting sound signals pure power, but with high speeds one experiences an even more imposing sound. Matched to this is a complete optimised engine management plus sport air filter providing the unit with extra breathing abilities. Results are a top speed of 305 km/h and sprinting from 0-100 km/h in only 4,4 seconds; a two-tenths decrease versus standard production.

I agree. I think the standard R8 is such a good looking vehicle, that any modification stylewise just ruins it.

i'm not much of a fan for aftermarket styling on any car. some of the ac schnitzer or other more extreme stylists can really make a good car look trashy. i think this is better than most. i'd still go stock though.

I like it, but they have taken the design a little too far so it will only appeal to some people. The original is obviously made to appeal to a wide variety of people.

The R8 is stunning by itself. This is unnecessary and doesn't do anything good.

I give credit to this tuned R8 because it isn't easy to modify a car that already looks near perfect. Yet, it still looks clean but sportier!!

^^^They are pretty good, sometimes better than stock, as well as as well as Koenig. But for the most part, after market kits for Civics to Ferraris (Novitec), tend to ruin the car's lines. Just take a look in any Import enthusiast's magazine and look at those silly kits, that don't do anything for the looks or the performance of the cars.

Why do people think it's been 'ruined'?

It has altered any fundamental R8 lines, just enhanced the aggressive nature of the nose with nicely-judged styling tweaks.

Remember, this is an 'alternative' to a regular R8, and those who want to be different and love aggressive styling will consider this package.

S4, why are you so touchy about tuners touching the R8? Do you feel the same about the Hamann F430 and Murcielago?

*it hasn't altered.

Just to add, I think it looks fantastic.

I love the F430, so yes.

What do you mean I'm "touchy" about the R8? If I think a tuner messed up a car's design, I will say it. It's not just the R8. It's the AC Schnitzer M3, the Brabus CL, etc... it's just unnecessary.

On the other hand, I love more integrated models, such as the Alpina BMWs and the RUF Porsches.
