Paris Motor Show: Mini Crossover Concept
What you see in the photos is maybe the longest Mini ever built. With over four meters in lenght and measuring 1,8 meters in width, the new car opens a new chapter in the history of Mini. Like the Mini Clubman, the Mini Crossover Concept is not a four- door in the classic sense, a conventional arrangement of doors is to be found only on the front passenger’s side, while on the driver’s side the the vehicle comes with a conventional door for the first row of seats plus a lift/sliding door moving along the outside for convenient access to the rear and for loading the car from the side.

And by dropping the B-pillar on the driver’s side, the Mini Crossover Concept exhausts the potential of this generous opening to an even higher degree. Frameless side windows, finally, are yet another feature of this truly exceptional four-door.

Kinda looks like a Mini got raped by an Infiniti FX and had a kid.

I think Mini should just stick to the small cars and leave the SUVs and crossovers to others. But I guess since they are owned by BMW, these would be based off the X1 and X2 variants.

This would work for me if the front seats are considerably higher off the ground and I can still slide my butt in without banging my head on the roof; however, frameless side windows are a big mistake as they invite wind noise when the windows eventually go out of adjustment. I don't want to be reaching over while driving to pull the top of the window glass toward me while I try to close the window.

Word on the street is that this thing will be assembled by Magna so the build quality should be a lot better. The Mini's coming out of Oxford England are absolute POS. I should know, I owned one. The English built Mini's have the build quality of an eastern block auto manufacturer.
