Paris to Bejing exclusive photos-001 experiences the new Bluetec E320 with Berlin supermodel Eva Padberg
REPORTING TONIGHT FROM LATVIA ON THE WAY TO ST. PETERSBURG-001 has been in his element for the last week on the Mercedes-Benz rally driving the absolutely AWESOME E320 Bluetec and hanging with the likes of supermodel Eva Padberg and women with exotic names like Iilaria from Italy (See pics below).

If you're already sold on hybrids, you owe it to yourself to look at the new Bluetec products from Mercedes-Benz.

What an amazing feeling to start up your car with a full tank of gas and see 999K till empty!

Plus the availability of all that torque, long engine life and the MB heritage is a formula that is hard to ignore.

I've been driving it for close to 3000 miles and averaging a whopping 35mpg at and average speed of...well we can't mention that, now can we ;)

There are a lot more photos in our Paris-Bejing Show gallery and let me tell you there are some real jewels in this one!

You NEED to take the time to view the ENTIRE gallery!

You have NO idea how hard it's been to get back to work with all these distractions! Thank GOD 004 and 009 have been holding the fort together!

I think I'm going to have to spend a week in Vienna for some serious help before I get to SEMA!

And one last thing...FORGET EVERYTHING you know about eastern Europe! Poland and Latvia ROCK!!! As the French say...Ooh la la, zee women!

I have to buy chapstick everyday for my tongue because it's dragging on the street!!!

She may have tits, but her square jaw and disproportionately large lips take away from the total package. My vote goes to the ebony hottie in photo 6.

You sent me on a mission and I'm glad I could accomplish it to your satisfaction! ;)

By the way, are the other car sites providing service like this kind of personal one on one service to their readers?

Wow... that's all I can say.

How much are the houses in Latvia? I'm hoping it's not too expensive. I'd like to buy a beach house and a Porsche Boxster there.

you do not want to have a house in latvia.
and beach? yes, in the freezing cold....it is right next to russia you know, its not warm.
and house prices? 80000 dollars for a 2 bed apartment, i think. strange when near me there are plenty of 2 bed apartments for 550000 dollars.
actually, what are house prices like in america? like say for 4 bed, garden, garage in the suburbs?

ok fine it was a stupid question :P
i'm sure google will have some answers, just house prices in the uk are bananas. especially in london, there are some fairly ordinary houses near me with 5 beds and small gardens going for 2 million dollars+. travel 100 miles to the countryside and the same house would be 1 million dollars.

Rupert - Wilco answered your question there, although not specifically, but he did. America is a big place, which basically means that in the country side it can be dirt cheap (let say about 150k+) while in the cities and metropolis it can get about a million or more for suburbs on the California coast for 1200 sq ft house (a really old house about 50+ years no where near a beach). Also London is one of the most expensive places to live, behind Tokyo and Seoul I think.

(probably am mistaken)

Nice pics 001, enjoy the ride.

Sounds good. What are the downsides of the Bluetec system? Is there a lot of vibration? What about emissions levels?

I have never owned nor desired a diesel, but something like this might be cool.

1. MORE pics like #4 :)
2. Why is it commonly held that diesel engines are more durable than gasoline engines? This "fact" has been repeated over and over, and honestly, I don't know whether or not it's true, but is it? I know for sure Toyota and Honda engines easily last to 200,000 miles with regular maintenance and care. So diesel is expected to hit 300,000 miles? Considering most people get rid of their car at around the 100,000-150,000 mile period, does it really matter if a diesel engine can run for 500,000 miles?

001,

This is so cool that you're doing this. I have always wanted to visit all of the places you are going to, especially Eastern Europe. I just think it's cool to visit places not often travelled by westerners. And if you think what you have seen so far is impressive, my friend wait to you get to St Petersberg, RU. Talk about Ohh La la! I predict we will stop hearing from you about there. One observation; it seems you visit a lot of MB dealers along the way. I assume it's for PR and not for RO's. Have any broke along the way yet? You probably can't say if they have. Of course if they leave you stranded anywhere, remember what I said about the whole St. Petersberg thing.

How does an Olsmobile Delta 98 find it's way to Russia with what appears to be a US license plate on it? Very strange!
