This coming September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Peugeot intends to reveal a second 308-derived MPV, which is described as a more conventional MPV that will compete with the very popular Renault Scenic. The car will be placed between the 308 hatch and the new 3008 crossover.

Although Peugeot already has a seven-seater 308 in the SW estate, the carmaker’s justification for the new car is due to the versatility of the platform of the 308, they want to take advantage of that by filling as many niches in the car market as possible. Insiders have acknowledged that the MPV might affect the sales of the 308 SW, although they believe that there are a lot of family buyers who want a people transport but will not consider a seven-seater like the 308 SW. The 308 MPV will come as either a five or seven-seater with focus on affordability and practicality.
