Photo: First real look at the new BMW 335i coupe
Looks more sporty and elegant than the last coupe.
It also looks like there is a panoramic roof on it...and dare we say the rear taillights resemble the Lexus IS350?
We should see at the Geneva motor show.

all i can say is that thing is sick! i think this car is pretty much perfect now (except the interior is still a little blehh..). the biggest weakness on the sedan version was the rear. the taillights just looked too weak, and it didnt have enough pizzaz. the lexus is i think one upped the bimmer because it had an aggressive front AND rear. well, with this new change, i think the bimmer is on top once again. o man, i cant wait til the new m3 comes out...

yeah, because the taillights are longish, ppl think that they might have copied lexus, but the thing is that the coupe version had already been designed w/ these taillights well before the lexus came out.

These tail lights look more like tha ones from tha new 7 series facelift, 750 to be exact. In my opinoin they do not resemble IS 350 at all.
Awesome car anyhow.

BMW should have stuck with there L and reverse L shaped lights on the rear that they had in the late 80's thru mid 90's. That to me was distinctive and definately recognizable as a BMW at the time. All their cars rears are so different now. No uniform look. Not to say there should be a small medium and large version (like MB used to always do) But just have something that says BMW.

No improvement in the rear atall, infact lookes more ugly then the Sedan's.Also (90%) tail lights resemble those of lexus IS.
Well we can't give our judgement by seeing only one pic,one angle that also which is not so clear.
let's wait till the official photograghs.
Hope it will be a very sleek and performing Coupe.

This is it. The "Real Deal"
I'm trading in my E46 Sedan Performancce Package for this.
Went and put my $500.00 deposit down today !!
-My BMW dealer says the coupe will be the 330 and 335 with no Ci badging.
-There wont be a 325 for a few months.
-The 335 will have OVER 300 horsepower !!!
-The coupe hits the USA market at the begining of Summer.
-Their will be an M package from the get go.
-Significantly different options and interiors.
-The coupe will have similiar interior colors as the 650.
-Head Up Display and Night Assist will be optional.
-The M package has 19inch Rims. They look SWEET!!
-The price will increase by a couple thousand dollars.
-Premium package standard on 335.
The dealer gave me photos of this car from all angles, but for some reason, they wont scan on my computer. Perhaps theyre protected ?
For us BMW purists, I cant imagine someone not LOVING this car. It is Beautiful !!
And those rear lights are lifted straight from a 750, so all you Lexus guys need to put a cork in it.
The BMW 335i with over 300 horsepower.....Good luck to the competition trying to hit this one.

I know you all say it looks like a Lexus, but where? It looks more to me like the next 7 series...
Where Lexus looks like this,
they are both different... To me the Lexus looks like it copied Alfa Romeo... the 156 that has been out since 2001
Alfa...
So to me maybe Alfa started it all...

First off,
This is NOT a photoshop. People dont photoshop pictures of cars driving into containers.
Second, this did not copy the IS. Do you people not know how long it takes to design a car? Even a coupe variant of an existing car? This tail-light treatment would have been signed off BEFORE the Lexus IS was launched.
Third, that new 7-series picture IS a photoshop. So not a valid arguement there AT ALL.
Forth (and final), that picture of a 156 is actually a 159. And BMW didn't copy Alfa Romeo.
Hell, I'm not even a big BMW fan. So take that into consideration while reading my post.

Atomicbri's post of the new 7 series. The chrome lining on the boot looks like the current model A6 (not saying they copied, just making an observation).
There are so many brand wars going on in this forum, having said what I just said, there's only so many to have tail lights, or boot lids.
Like other people have said, I like a car based on its merits regardless of brand, but I definitely favour German cars. I've owned 2 German and 2 Jap cars so far.

You're right Camry Rules...It does look like a SOnata (the IS's lights) As for Matthew, any pic can be Photoshop'ed. I use Photoshop everyday at my work ( I do advertising) and let me tell you one can Photoshop any picture. But by close inspection of that picture, it looks like the real deal. I can usually tell if something was manipulated. And you are right, I grabbed the wrong pic when linking, it is the 159 and not the 156, though the 156 had similar lights to the 159. My point is I think the BMW still looks like a BMW. When you take the whole car into consideration, it's a BMW. If you all wanna be that picky about lights, what about that kink in the side glass Lexus is using. As in my pic above, looks a lot like BMW's famous kink in the C-Pillar.

These tail lights look nothin alike. I think that IS should have had similar tail lights to those in last generation. Altezza lights made that car what it is.

That is not smoke coming out of the exhaust.
If it was photoshopped (which it isn't), the artist could have easily removed the smoke from the image.

Yet again another example of the coupe being styled much better than the sedan. I belive, just like some others, that the rear end is reminiscent of the BMW 7 series.
