There is no doubt that the new Jaguar XF is one of the best looking cars of 2008 (although we wish they kept the headlights they had on the C-XF). While nothing has been confirmed as of yet, Andre of CWW Car Design has whipped up a photo rendering of the Jaguar XF convertible with a shorter wheelbase.

Of course, before going the convertible route, Jaguar would most likely drop a coupe version of the XF. But then again, they don’t have to...

I'd take a Lexus SC430 over this. It might be older but it looks better, has the legendary 4.3 V8, smooth comfort and performance and it has the Lexus badge which means more than some rebadged Ford badge with a cat on it.

David, one of my associates that i work closley with just bought a SC430. That thing has dissapointment all over it. It looks are so outdated, the ride is so CHOPPY, its not earth shattering fast and worst of all the handiling is sloppy. The only true competitor to that disaster is a Toyota Solara.

Jaguar was started by Ford just like Lexus was started by Toyota. But unlike Ford Toyota is a better company and this makes Lexus better and more prestigeous too. Jaguar cars are FWD based and handle poorly and they look like trash with excessive chrome and stupid circular designs.

You want design you go to a leader like Lexus. Classy and class leading designs.

"Jaguar was started by Ford " ????

Come on David, you know better than that.

Of course Jaguar has a rich heritage, independent of Ford.

You have dissoved into absurdity. The humor? in your satirical posts has been lost completely.

Why do people think I am trying to be funny? I am not. I am sick of being labelled a comedian.

You know damn well that Jaguars are Fords. The are built on Ford platforms and use Ford engines. Don't make excuses and try to make Jaguar look prestigeous when they're not.

Holy mackeral DAVID you are so out of touch.. No the Cars are not Fords. Ford doesn't even ,make an Aluminum car. so what if you can tell are the platforms that the XK and The XK share with Ford. Take your best shot.

The AJ V* that Jaguar uses is a design that has evolved since before Fords ownership in 1989. So tell me how did Ford pull that off?

People laugh at you not because you are stupid. You just say stupid things without knowing what you are talking about.

I think it is over for Jaguar, it look soon when XF concept out. And than the actual production model come out which totally suprise everone because it was ugly.

And now this convertible version? even the VW Enos convertible look better than this. The headlight is just awardly, I can't seem to describe it ugliness.

I just wish this forum could stick to the subject and have an intelligent discussion. I am sure there are a number of children (most likely david989 on the site that should be kicked off. Maybe his dad has a Lexus, maybe ever an SC430 but I doubt it. There are some very knowledgeable people on this site and it is worth listening to their ideas. Then there are the children that my brand is better than your brand, regardless of the subject, and there goes the dialog. I have owned a number of Jaguars, MBs, Porsches, Corvettes, etc. I have never owned a Lexus but whenever anyone asks me what they should buy, I always suggest a Lexus first, unless they are a serious car enthusiast. I enjoy constructive discussion on BMWs, Audis, Ferraris and a number of other fine cars that I have never owned and would like to one day. The knowledgeable people will understand why my position so I won't go into it. Kids, there is the Disney site, My Space, You Tube, go have fun there. The site administrator should note those that get -Boost and bar them from the site. We should take time to +Boost the knowledgeable people and -Boost the children and get them removed. If someone gets a minus ten boost, they should be automaticly be removed from the site. How about that, site administrator?

Just so you all know the XF was designed and signed of on before the C-XF was designed. The C-XF is more for the XJ replacement so all of you get over it already

Well (to get back on the seriousness of the automobile at hand), I think it looks ok, but I'm a bit shocked by the exterior of the XF. With all of the hype that Jaguar presented, I figured it would have been sharper. It reminds me of Infiniti, awesome to behold during introduction, but grows old very quickly in appearance. For me, the new G37 is the best looking for a while for them. Jaguar to me though is dwindling down and has been for a while. I believe the S-Type & XJ prototypes look like something in which to get excited. The XF, it will wear out on me after a few months. And it is nothing but a Ford. They need LC displays especially instead of the old Ford gauges.

Well yes it is completely new...but looking at it reminds me of the X-type, as far as the exterior (pillars) & also the XK in some ways with the side vents, etc.

But oh I forgot, the gear pops up...whoopie! 8-/

I meant generally-speaking that the Jags overall are nothing but European Fords...

well generally speaking you are exactly WRONG!!!
Do a l.ittle homework and get back to me when you have completed the assignment.

I'll give you a head start. The only car that has any Ford parts is the X TYPE all others are completely Jaguar.

Here's my homework assignment. The dog almost ate it...lol

"The S-Type is produced at Jaguar's Castle Bromwich facility in Birmingham, England. The car was styled by the late Geoff Lawson, and is based on the Jaguar DEW platform/Ford DEW platform which it shared with the now out of production Lincoln LS, but with substantial modifications."

The interior if nothing else is that cheap-looking material (IMO).

BUt I think Jag could've done better with the XF. That's just my opinion.
