I hooked up my accelerator to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I'm gone.

Photo Rendering: Next generation BMW 6-Series
The kings of photo renderings, AutoBild, are running this rendering of the next generation BMW 6-Series. According to this rendering, the front headlamps seem to be inspired by the 5-Series, being taken into the body. You can also see larger air intakes which probably means more power for the next generation 6-Series.

AutoBild renderings in the past have been proven to be very close to production models for many cars including their rendition of the 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class (which was made two years before the official launch).

Oh no! the current 6 is great. This just looks like a 2 door 5 (clk competitor) Autobild is the best at photo renderings so there is a very good chance that it will in fact look like this.

Looks like something designed by Fisker. Oddly reminds me of the 8-Series w/o pop-up lights.

I agree it looks like a Fisker design. Perhaps they are taking some inspiration from the Fisker "6 series". Anyways i'm sure this is just another one of many renderings of this.

Even though the 6 series as little design problems, this one makes it worse. Its a stretched out 5 series headlight and stretched bumper work. Please if anything BMW make it more muscular!

the belt-line pictured here will never make production. it makes the car look like it's slowing rather than accelerating. that's a stylistic no-no.

this is a terrible photoshop. somebody should be dragged into the street and shot.

it wont look like that, look at all of the future designs (i.e. the 2010 5-series, CS-concept) for design ideas, those squinty-eyed head lamps will never see the light of day. Also, the CLK is not a 6-series competitor, the 3-series is

The CLK is in a category on its own. Below the 6 and above the 3

Bad job here, if you put on an audi grill i would think it was an early rendering of the A5

I dont like it, after seeing the CS Concept, this looks like a step backwards in their design

Dawn.....that is one ugly car for sure..........this is a huge step back from the current BMW 6 Series. The current 6 Series is definitely one of the most beautiful coupe out there.

I own a 6 series. And I don't like the new version. I think they should keep the 6 the way it looks. It's quite distinct from all the rest of the BMW lineup, but in a very elegant way. What I'd like to see done, is give the 6 series, some side vents.

Otherwise, it has a classy look already, which means it doesn't look 'hip', current, or fashionable, like the rest of BMW lineup. But, it has a demure yet elegant look which -I find- is the combination to doesn't make the car invogue, but it doesn't make it look dated either.

BMW, if you are listening, keep the 6 the way it is.

This isn't the new version. It's a photoshop. The new version isn't coming for two or three years. I love the current 6, too. If it wasn't RWD, I'd definitely look at a 650 convertible.

If it wasnt RWD???

You must be confused.

The best cars are RWD.

The current 6 Series is so elegant, so stately, so aggressive- and somehow so timeless. When it came out, I thought it was boring, but now that the once-gorgeous SL is beginning to show its age, I can see the BMW's design integrity. It looks just as fresh as it did in 2004. They would never ruin it to this extent.

LOL...Who are they kidding! The 6-series will never looks like this.

The 5-series headlights are one of, if not the most controversial design element in all of BMW's line-up. I wouldn't expect to see them again on any future BMW n/m the 6.

Like the next gen 7-series the 6 probably won't see a dramatic evolution, they both still look fresh as it is.

I have a bad tendency to get bored of cars rather quick, within a year or so (I always lease), & I'm coming up on the year mark with my 650 coupe (May 29), but I still find myself occasionally walking backwards in parking lots.

Looking at this car everyday you find new angles in which to admire it's beauty, & a couple of angles to avoid. The only think I'd change is the rear design; I've found it looks great from most angles but not all.

Pretty disappointing really. They should have taken more design elements from the CS Coupe
