Porsche Cayenne Hybrid to debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show
The Porsche Cayenne Hybrid represents an unique vehicle that combines superior efficiency with equally superior driving dynamics. With a fuel consumption of less than 9 liters/100 km, an equally important point was to maintain Porsche’s typically ambitious standards in terms of vehicle weight and driving dynamics also in the hybrid model. And perhaps the best news is that Porsche will be introducing this very economical SUV before the end of this decade.

They really don't.
Call me when it actually gets these numbers, for now, an X5 3.0sd is still the winner with 0-60 in 7 seconds plus 34 UK mpg.

I think the Q7 4.2 TDi is the Best Engine for an SUV
0-62 in 6.4 secs and 32 UK mpg

I'm sure it will get something amazing like 16/21MPG instead of 14/20.
Hybrids just don't work in luxury cars...

One of the worst SUVs out there. Don't count on the efficiency or reliabilty to be anywhere close to that of other luxury hybrids available.

have you ever driven one? the cayenne handles remarkably for an SUV of its size. and in the higher end versions, the power is tremendous. not to mention that it actually has a distinctive design.
you are boring.

You tools obviously don't really understand the true function of an SUV. They are not meant to be high performance vehicles.

david:
lol...SUVs "are not meant to be high performance vehicle." so it's wrong for porsche to make a utilitarian car that's also a blast to drive? i think the buyers of the cayenne beg to differ.
but massive $100,000 luxury cars like the LS600 are meant to be 'green?' LMAO

I am surprised they don't use the same 4.2 liter TDI engine from their cousin AUDI?

It would be fantastic in the Cayenne... but they "don't do" diesels. Apparently they can do hybrids, but hybrids are less fun (and less economical) than diesels. Porsche's logic eludes me.
