The Nurburgring racetrack has a new record for the fastest four-door production car: the Porsche Panamera Turbo.

The 12.9 mile circuit in Germany’s Eifel Mountains was completed in 7 mins., 56 secs., which is three seconds faster than last year’s Cadillac CTS-V.

Powering the Panamera is a 4.8-liter V8 which produces 493bhp and 517lb ft of torque. Porsche and Nissan’s 911 GT3 have been fiercely competing with each other for the coveted fastest time record at the ‘Ring. Nissan has claimed a time of 7 mins., 26.4 secs., which Porsche disputes. Nissan has since released a video to prove the lap time.
