Porsche Releases Details And Photo of 2008 Cayennes
Porsche Press Release:

Four years after their stunning debut in the world market, the next generation of the highly successful Porsche Cayenne and its Turbo and S variants will be seen for the first time at next month’s North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The trio of Porsche SUVs incorporates attractive new styling, enhanced engine performance, and innovative handling technology.

To increase power and torque, as well as fuel economy, the engines on all three new Cayenne models are equipped with direct gasoline injection, known at Porsche as Direct Fuel Injection (DFI). To improve the Cayenne’s already exceptional handling, directional stability, and ride comfort, an inventive new Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) is available as an option on each of the new SUVs.

More information on the new Porsche Cayenne, Cayenne S, and Cayenne Turbo will be available at the NAIAS Porsche press conference on January 8. Designated as 2008 models, the trio of new Porsche SUVs will arrive at North American Porsche dealerships in March of 2007.

Again, Porsche putting VW technology to good use. The new Cayennes will use VW's dircet injection. The 4.8 V8 with DFI (FSI) makes 385 hp out of 4.8 liters. The V6 makes 290 hp out of 3.6 liters (this is acutally a VW engine with 10 more hp) The turbo also benefits from DFI (FSI) to make 500 hp an d515 lb-ft of torque. So Porsche already benefiting wiht VW technology.

So you can ask questions like that. Or possibly to make money. It is one of those two and I can't remember which one.

When Porsche knew that they will refresh their cayenne range by December 2006,then why did they brought Cayenne Turbo S to the market just months before the Cayenne range's Mid-life refresh.

Looks like they had no plans, something like they cheated us,for example Now the coustomer(my couzin included)who bought the Turbo S in September will be getting a big loss,as their car will loose so much value because of this---->Refresh Cayenne, just 6 months after Cayenne Turbo S debut.

No plan whatsoever from Porsche.

I am really SAD,wasn't expecting this from Porsche.
Where will all the Cayenne Turbo S coustomers will go,especially when they had already paid nearly $115K.

JUGNU,

As 540k rightly stated, a Cayenne refresh was public knowledge well before the 'S' model was introduced.

Like what most other manufacturers do, the Cayenne S was the last 'hurrah' for the current Cayenne, and helping keep public interest until a new model arrived.
