Porsche considers new fuel saving tech for 911 range
Porsche is adding a hybrid option to its next-gen Cayenne and new Panamera, but fuel saving technologies may also filter across to its iconic 911 range according to latest reports. Porsche is said to be trying to reduce fuel consumption and carbon-dioxide emission levels of its 911 range, just as it did with the Cayenne. Read Article

What is wrong with these guys? They consulted with Toyota how many times and now they want to convert everything to hybrid technology? I can just see it now....the front compartment of a 911 filled to the brim with batteries. That sounds like a lot of fun.
Dr. F has got to be turning in his grave!

The Panamera is about the ugliest thing on the Nurburgring anyway so I guess Prius owners (who obviously couldn't give a crap about automotive design) have something to aspire to.

The Cayman is dying off quickly because of price alone.

The Boxster refuses to die. The PCH wouldn't be the same without them anyway.

This just proves that money can't buy you any taste at all.

Thank God they didn't buy Aston Martin. I hope they keep their mits off Jaguar too.

Hey Winterkorn,

Better keep the doors locked over at V-Dub cause these Porsche guys are going to be banging on it soon for some serious help in the form of either cash or design work. Probably in that order!

Every car company, even Ferrari, is looking at was to increase fuel economy.

Liberal members of the EU body have even proposed a ban on sportscars because of poor efficiency. No one wants to get caught unaware so they are taking preemptive efforts.

BTW, if porsche had bought AM, maybe AMs could actually be driven. How many AMs do you see with over 100k miles vs. how many 911s do you see with over 100k miles? Cars are meant to be driven and abused, not sit in the dealer's service bay or someone's garage. Great looking cars tho!
