Porsche gets pushy with VW: Let’s speed up the next Cayenne
Seems like Porsche is being a little pushy with Volkswagen, as Wiedeking, Porsche’s CEO, uses the company’s 30.9 percent stake in his favor to speed up development on common projects. As before, both Porsche and Volkswagen are working closely on the next-generation Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg. However, Porsche seems to want to speed up development on its next Cayenne.
According to German newspaper Automobilwoche, Porsche wants to launch its next-generation Cayenne in the first half of 2010, meanwhile Volkswagen hasn’t planned to release the next Touareg until late 2010. Perhaps the performance bar was raised by Lexus, but the UGLY bar was also raised.
I used to think the Cayenne was ugly, but jeez after seeing the LX570 Pregnant Highlander Navigator looking. . . Ugggghh. . .

I agree... there's something about it. But the refresh does it well.

It does look like a toad, and I used to tell everybody, but the porsche badge on the hood makes it good looking and 'cool' for so many people....

Hopefully, the next Cayenne will lose some weight or at least seat 7. I always felt like the Cayenne looks to stodgy and square for being a Porsche. Sketches of a next gen Cayenn I saw from edmunds looked more like an Infiniti FX with 911 lights. Much more fitting.

The crossfire looks like a frog lol. Cayenne's are okay lookin..but could look better as for the LX570 the Range Rover is actually the real competitor. Its the benchmark

I do like the refresh, but I'm worried about Porsche's influence on VW. Speeding up the project means that it probably won't be as good as it could have been.

i think it couldnt be that bad, since it it comes out faster, then the faster the public will get another facelift which will be obviously better than the first version.
