It's kinda sad what Porsche needed to become in order to survive. Pretty soon when someone says they own a Porsche it will ring hollow.

I would hate to won a boxster, i cant imagine cheaper! Maybe they will make vehicles like the lotus elise. pure driving pleasure with no luxury. stripo cars that are just fun to track and cruise.

If they make them cheap, people afraid and ashamed to buy it, if they make them too expensive, nobody can afford it. Tough call VW!

what engines and platforms will it be sharing? in order to make a model "much cheaper", theres going to be some serious economics of scale going on.

i think they can do it, though. kill the audi tt, and use the platform for a rwd porsche. perhaps something with the footprint of the 1-series, but lighter and more sports car than sports coupe.

i can picture it, but it took a stretch of my imagination...

porsche is loosing their prestige. the iconic 911 is the only thing good about them. stick with being exclusive not mainstream!!! fuck u vw

Even though Porsche has plans to enter into below entry level Porsche cars I don't feel their quality will be hurt. What I fear is their brand image. They are suppose to be a competitor with Ferrari and Lamborghini. You always hear those 3 mentioned when it comes to sports cars. Now with possible introductions of smaller, less expensive Porsches, the prestige of this brand could take a huge hit. I'd still buy a Porsche don't get me wrong but I'll go in buying it knowing it's not as exclusive as it once was and that any call center worker can work to pay off an entry level Porsche, not too special is it?.

1. VW should just keep with the Upmarket push, and they should continue on their path to buy Suzuki. Let Suzuki make the Economy cars.

2. Have VW make the Entry Level Lux Product.

3. Have Audi as the Dedicated Luxury Make.

4. Have Porsche make a couple of smaller cars, but keep them as the supercar make

Also, when VW buys Suzuki, they should scrap the lineup except for Kizashi, SX4, and Swift. Then work to turn their next gen versions into cheaper and more practical more fuel effcient Golfs, Jettas, and Polos.

Then make their Trucks true modern no joke off roaders.

I think buying Suzuki would be the best option for VW North America. it would add flavor and economy to the lineup, and make the rest of the brands and lineups grow and make more sense.
