In a recent interview with Autocar, new boss Michael Macht admitted that Porsche is prepared to share the Panamera and 911 platforms with other brands from the Volkswagen Group. “Porsche needs to become a strong pillar of VW, as well as having its own production and research and development capabilities. It is important to ?use synergies as well as having independence,” said Macht.

Apart from the Cayenne’s V6, Porsche will not use other engines from Vw because the engine development is a core value for the German manufacturer, according to Macht sayings. As you may know already Porsche is also thinking of its first electric car, but this is currently far away because it appears that the current rechnology doesn’t fit with Porsche requirements. The technology used by the Audi e-Tron Concept could be the solution.
