Prius Beats Corvette in Owner Satisfaction Poll
How much do you like the car you drive? Would you buy the same car again?

When the Consumer Reports National Research Center asked that question, for the third straight year, owners of the Toyota Prius were the most satisfied, with 92% saying they'd buy the fuel-efficient hybrid sedan again.

"This is a case where hybrids really work," said Consumer Reports' Auto Test Center Senior Director David Champion.

The agile and fast Chevrolet Corvette ranked second in the satisfaction survey that Champion presented Thursday to the Automotive Press Association at the Detroit Athletic Club.

The results of the survey, as well as those of the magazine's annual auto-reliability study, are available in the new car and truck preview issue that is on newsstands now.

Congratulations to any company who makes vehicles that the owners love so much. I'm not knocking GM for making the Corvette - I might question the sensibilities of Corvette owners, but not the manufacturer.

What's the significance of this results?

Prius and Corvette owners have completely different expectations. The typical 'Vette owner wants a fun and fast car while your typical Prius owner wants something fuel-efficient and reliable: and in the case of celebritites, image-conscious media whores.

um think about it, people who buy vettes typically are crossing that halfway point into life and want something that tells people they are still young inside. so you have a bunch of baby boomers driving vets on weekends putting 2-5k miles a year on them. the car will last alot longer at this rate and they will prob be approaching 70 when they want to sell it. so they prob wont want to buy another vet when they are that old. or they wont feel the need to have a race car.

the prius on the other hand is a car for all age groups and is alot cheaper. its not something you buy in a mid-life crisis. its a cheap fuel effecient COMMUTER car. complete opposite of the vette so it doesnt suprise me that more people said they buy the prius again than the vette. oh well, the vette still came in second so dont shit all over them 99gs400 because "put in a big ass engine with tons of HP and call it a car" is what people want.

No worries. This whole boosting stuff doesn't interest me. I've noticed already how some people with good posts are boosted down because the fanboys don't agree. Don't worry about it. ;-)

That's stupid.

They're completely different cars, and can't be compared, in any aspect.

Most Corvette owners are balding men in their 50's who like to complain, so it's no surprise the car did worse than the Prius.

That and the fact that it's an unreliable POS.

When did coming in second for customer satisfaction become such a bad thing??
