Two of Europe's hottest newcomers are the BMW X1 and Range Rover Evoque.
Both products represent a blossoming new entry-level premium segment, luxury compact sport-utility vehicles.
With the demand for a higher ride height, a roomy cabin that can provide flexible utility and a solid mpg rating, buyers are filling this niche faster than automakers expected. They're mostly for young, urbanized professionals that want a vehicle that looks good, has brand recognition/staus and remains useful.
But now it looks like Mercedes-Benz is readying a product to join the ranks. While one would suspect that the GLK-Class would have been ample competition, Mercedes is prepping something that will be more along the lines of the A/B-Class product on stilts.
Rumors have attributed the new CSC Concept's fluid, sharp styling characteristics to make their way onto this GLA but we'll believe it when we see it.
