When I think of Toyota's luxury division, Lexus, I do not immediately think of super luxurious products or its formerly unique owner experience. Now I tend to think of decent products that tend to be reliable and have some interesting features.
Some of Lexus' allure has dissipated for me.
It has nothing to do with the styling, which is actually quite good. Check out the all-new NX and soon-to-be released RX. And then there's the RC, which I've found stimulating from day one. For me, the problem resides in how the latest Lexus products drive. They feel like a step behind the latest and greatest competition.
To me, it's clear that the company needs a really groundbreaking vehicle that will restore confidence in the L brand. I think the LC will be the car to do it.
When it was first seen as the LF-LC Concept, it stole the attention at the auto show it first appeared at. It was gorgeous, had a stunning cockpit and was the epitome of innovative.
Now that we know the company is going to deliver an all-new flagship and that the LC has been spied testing on a couple occasions, I just have to ask:
