Though there have been mix ups in the past, I think we're looking at the real McCoy tonight, folks.
While there's been plenty of studio shots and spy photos of the all-new Porsche 918, there hasn't been much going on in terms of a final, production version.
That was until these patent filings leaked out recently.
From what we can tell, this looks like the 918 is ready to ship!

Porsche has applied for patent on the Porsche 918 Spyder for the Chinese auto market. As usual the pictures leaked out so here we have a very first look at the final production version of the 918 Spyder. The car on the pictures differs from earlier concept cars by having door handles, mirrors, indicator lights, seat belts, a slightly different front bumper and redesigned air intakes in the front bumper.
