You have to love when this type of information makes the rounds on the internet.

According to a forum user on Camaro5, which I would describe as the best source of Camaro-related info, the new General Motors "VIN card" for the 2014 model year Camaro shows an oddity.

That's the presence of a new motor. Well, it's not exactly new but it would certainly be completely new to the Camaro. The engine in question? The LS7, which can be found in the Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

And to be quite honest, if you were to ask anyone about the LS7 versus the ZR1's LS9, likely they'd tell you the power of the 9 is phenomenal; however, they'd go with the 7. What can I tell you, the sound of a 7.0-liter V8 is just...intoxicating.

It's interesting to note that a GM website that hosted the .pdf document seems to have removed it.

GM's dealer vin cards are posted for the 2014 model year. A new engine code is listed for the Camaro. The LS7 engine "E".

No new vehicle line/series listing, other than the currently offerings ( ie Z28)

FYI, the 7.0-liter LS7 V8 motor is currently used in the Corvette Z06 (505hp @ 6300rpm / 470 lb-ft @ 4800rpm).
