According to an Italian automotive publication, the very first details of the next-generation Maserati Quattroporte's powertrain have hit the interweb. Whether or not these are actually the real specifications is another story but this wouldn't be the first time a publication outted some interesting details.

Word on the street suggests that inital rumors about two powerplant options are true. There will be a 3.0-liter V6 producing an ample 410 horsepower and a 3.8-liter V8 making 530 horsepower.

The most critical element of these powertrains is that they both will benefit from bi-turbo technology.

After the pictures of last week, we now get technical and motorical data of the new Maserati Quattroporte 2013. The two most important power sources will be a V6 and V8 with double turbo. The engines are entirely made out of aluminum and are equipped with a direct injection. The 3.0l V6 produces 410 bhp and is available with rear-wheel drive as well as four-wheel drive. The Quattroporte V6 with RWD will get to 100km/h (62mph) in 5 seconds and has a top speed of 285 km/h (177 mph). The QP V6 with AWD does near as makes no difference the same (4,9 sec. / 284 km/h).
